It's purely an advertising revenue decision isn't it? They must have felt that they would get more viewers for Celtic v Barcelona, than Arsenal v Napoli. They're probably right too.

Maguire Defo to get Barca on the telly but it's still a shambles of a decision. Zero interest in watching Celtic.

Man City got completely and utterly dismantled last night. Get bored of saying it but City never look like a team to me, just a collection of talented individuals who do their own thing when they get the ball. Occasionally a couple of the spics might be on the same wavelength but overall it's nowhere near the finished article.

Bayern on the other hand appear to be every bit as good as last season.

For a while after the third goal it was utter carnage and looked like Bayern to get 6 or 7. In the end, 1-3 was extremely flattering to City which is all a bit  given the ease with which they themselves destroyed United the other week.

Not sure I would be that kind to Real Madrid to be honest.

The Champions League is becoming less and less enjoyable as the potential winners are becoming almost exclusively polarised to the usual suspect 'Establishment' clubs. It's virtually akin to watching massive corporations battling it out for market share, the matches may as well be called BMW vs Tesco or HSBC vs Microsoft.

These clubs have so much clout within their own leagues they just simply buy anyone that prevents someone else from winning things. It's a huge corporate whore cringefest when you watch these matches and the teams are inevitably followed by the unimaginative & shallow glory slags. It's football, but not as I know it Jim. Surely UEFA needs to advertise it like those soul draining shopping centres where "You can find all your favourite brands/shops under one roof". Thought the Premier League was bad enough, the CL is even worse IMO.

despite the fact that everyone wanks themselves silly over German football this is especially obvious in the Bundesliga. There's Bayern, their feeder club Dortmund, and then a load of other teams

HOW did Robinho miss that?

The list of CL winners over the last 10 years does make interesting reading. Certainly more diverse than the PL winners in that time.

I assume that Arsenal v Dortmund is a game considered to be of more interest.

Pleased for Celtic, beating Ajax. Should go some way to answering Rangers' win at Brechin at the weekend.
