The point of HRK

HUDDERSFIELD
CARDIFF
BRADFORD

frankly I can forgive everything else because of his crucial contribution to the cup run

His point seems to be scoring big goals and not a lot else.

So if he scored the winner v Arsenal and then the cup-winning goal
you'd still write him off...

Got it.

This season he has played about the same as most players in a team that
has under-performed in the league, but his cup form has been special with
three excellent goals, winner at Cardiff, a superb strike at Derby, a crucial
clever, nerve-settling header last night.

A great through-ball for the winner at Derby, too.

In his defence (and the right wingers) Bradford committed suicide by leaving their fullbacks 1v1 and giving us lots of space wide.

You won't see a Championship side do that. They'll double up and shut our flanks down.

I'd say Chalobah looks more the big game player. He's seemed distinctly casual until the first leg and has really stepped it up in both Bradford games plus playing LB (was that league or Bradford, i forget... ). Hopefully he carries it on. A semi at Wembley v Arse is great experience for him. Not sure i can see him making it at Cheat$ki though.

Doesn't sound likely but I think a season's loan to us for 2015-16
would help him develop and get us comfortably into the top six or better

I think he's improving just by getting game time and realising
he has to work hard and earn the right to play

Yeh, what is the point of HRK? It's starting to look a bit like 'What did the Romans ever do for us...........?'

I think the problem people have with HRK, myself included is the fact he's one of our best players but very often puts on low to average performances, then when you start to lose faith he pulls out a top performance like yesterday.

It's like if your kid was clearly capable of always getting A grades but kept coming home with Cs and Ds, then when you're about to take away his pocket money he gets another A.

I think part of the problem is that he has never appeared quite the same player since that Stevenage assaulted him in the so-called pre-season 'friendly' .

Then at other times I think he has been asked to play a different type of role in the team, which gives him much less opportunity to display some of his attacking flair. So at Bradford away, I am pretty sure that he had been instructed to support the defence far more. IMO he did that very effectively, using his bulk and strength to great effect against the Bradford 'battering rams'. In contrast, Mackie on the other side of the pitch was allowed far more freedom to push forwards (helped by Kelly's greater strength and defensive experience).

But again, Pog was superb last night. Looked a genuinely class act.

My brother was pissed off because he backed Hector to be the first goalscorer and thought it was him  .
He also suggested to me during the game that this was Kanu's level, a Div 1 side.
Bearing in mind that Kanu's other goals in this cup from have come against Championship strugglers and a 10- man Derby Reserves side I think he has a point.
Now let's see him and the rest kick on from here for the rest of the season.

How does he explain the PL goals 2 seasons ago?

They were strugglers and their defenders were only really of Div 1 standard?

Will Samuel displace him next season?

Not unless his stay at Coventry is dramatically improving his attitude (off pitch as well as on).

Having had the highlights of Monday showved down my throat by the club on twitter, facebook, sky sports news bbc etc....

I have seen HRK's celebration numerous times, complete with cupping his ear to Y25/6, and generally staring at them in an angry way. Sort of reminds me of when Kebe did it.

The difference is i loved Kebe before and after, i dont love HRK. Talent but not box office entertainment like Kebe was.

He has Blackman's attitude but has a larger arse.

I'm still not convinced.

Snowball HRK Premiership Goals 2012-13

Against

Finished 1st Manchester Utd (1) - 8th minute opener in the bizarre 4-3 defeat
Finished 4th Arsenal (1) - 68th minute consolation to make it 3-1 in a 4-1 defeat
Finished 5th Spurs (1) - a 90th minute consolation in a 3-1 defeat
Finished 6th Everton (1) - 84th minute consolation in another 3-1 defeat
Finished 12th Fulham (1) & (2) - 90th minute equaliser to earn a point & and a 16th minute (pen) plus 62nd min to put us 2-0 in a 4-2 win in a meaningless game after our relegation

I'm not drawing too much that but it does seem that he scored a number of his goals at the death and/or when they might not've meant too much. That might just be down to the times in games in was playing of course, and he also scored a couple of important ones too, but my point is more than just scoring against United or Arsenal doesn't mean too much in itself.

Hoop that was in response to the suggestion that
HRK's goals were scored against STRUGGLING Premiership sides.

But aren't you getting desperate now?

A player gets 7 PREMIERSHIP goals at rate of 1 every 181 minutes
but we are now going to say, yeah but they weren't IMPORTANT goals?
