The thing with Beckham is that I can't see him going on the plane to South Africa due to his age. As such I don't think he should be in the current squad - far better to use that squad place to give match experience to for a player that will be going to SA.

Southbank Old Boy
Royal Rother obviously has something against Walcott when the lad has shown he's got more about him than Waddle ever showed in 60 internationals,

Walcot has had one good performance for England, or at least he took 3 decent chances and has achieved very little so far. For one who seems to think he's a deep thinker and thoughful poster that is onr hell of a knee jerk reaction!

Waddle achieved very little in 60 internationals and I don't like him, okay? Even I can make cheap digs you know.

Royal Rother Indeed he is not. HTF he got a job doing that I'll never know. Simply unable to string a sentence together, contradicts himself several times in a game, obviously has something against Walcott when the lad has shown he's got more about him than Waddle ever showed in 60 internationals, and is generally crap to listen to.

No-one, I repeat no-one, can be worse than the Merse on Sky.

(With England 1-0 up) "Ohh they've got good players on the ball, but no guile, I can't see them opening England up, we've too much class, they'll never string enough passes together to really threaten. Oh it's 1- 1, they've scored." It then transpires that while he had been talking Belorus had been making a 23-pass move leading up to their goal.

My favourire 'Merse' moment was the start of last season when he went on a rant about just how bad Santa Cruz was and how he couldn't believe anyone paid money for the bloke. I always thought they would use that clip against him later in the season in comic fashion but I have never see it done.

Bridge was put on his arse and then Walcott's man came in unmarked at the back stick.

Nothing Wes or Rio could do about that.

Apart from defend the back post properly you mean?

Right back and right sided centre half...goal scored with a header on their post and they shouldn't have done anything about it? Are you sure?

the ball still got put in the 6 yard box where the keeper or central defenders should be. Wouldn't have been a goal if Terry was playing.

They were both marking players. The left winger was on the edge of the box with Walcott, made a late run and left Walcott ball watching. Do you want Wes to teleport from his man to this new one who's just arrived?

No but there is a big space and sometimes defenders have to be aware enough to attack the ball and not allow a free header 8 yards from goal just because it's not their man that's getting on the end of it.

It's called covering and I'd expect one of the two to have made a better job of doing it. Saying that it was a good run, a good ball, and sometimes you have to put your hands up and accept the opposition have scored a good goal. It wasn't undefendable though, even for Wes Brown.

If it was against United I'd be going mad at Ronaldo for not doing his job. I still can't believe that people are trying to detatch any blame from their wonder boy. A lot more of the blame should be on the FIVE players who are all attracted over to the left forcing Rio and Wes to do the covering that you are on about.

5 players on one man, Rio covering the run of two players, Wes covering the man in the middle leaving the left winger able to get in ahead of Walcott. Blame goes 50% to those 5 mongs and 50% to Walcott.

Anyone got the full 23 pass move?

Obviously, when Argentina do it, it is great but Belarus ...

In that 20 minute spell in the 1st half where they really took the game to us some of Belarus' passing and movement was reminiscent of Arsenal at their best. Fantastic to watch.
