RFCMod Expect the SB group to be the new owners of Binfield ;)

RFCMod Expect Bracknell to welcome the wheat from the chaff of best players

Already signed Massimo Giamettei and he scored a late equaliser, in a 2-2 draw, for them at Gloucester City last Saturday.

Absolutely wouldn't shock me in the slightest. Lot of nice land in and around there, perfect for new football stadium.*

*Until the local residents find out.

Funny in the non league game you seem able to own loads of clubs but once you're in the FL you, rightly, can't

Royals and Racers Windsor FC have announced it’s Beaconsfield’s ground they are playing home games at.It of course has a 3G pitch.

I see Kevin is hyping it up as more than a standard groundshare whatever that means

As for dunston v Gateshead the footage almost makes it look like something from shameless

....probably warrants a  to AE ..... but following the twatterati  trail on the Dunston UTS FC site (via NLM) and it leads quickly to some disturbing allegations of 'pedalo-related' activities....supposedly masking some fairly nasty gang war undertones?? :? :?

Dunston have issued a statement - trying to distance themselves from this but - though rather bizarre viewed from a distance - must have been unsettling for those at the game or associated with the club.
Rumours of firearms being discharged car-jacking closed gates being driven thru etc etc....

Yep, read similarly today. The ‘humour’ dissipated

Hopefully not relative to the game or players?

It is arguably the worst job in grassroots football. Who the hell would want to do that without being paid?

...a quick glance down the constitution for Hellenic D2, shows only 14 'First Teams' - who ought to have their own pitch/ground - but may not necessarily play there. A few of these have 'lodged' in recent past - such as Chalvey Sports/Mortimer/Chalfont Wasps etc - and according to the league 'blurb' only 7 (SEVEN) of the 37 DO NOT ground-share? :?

They don't need to struggle for grading to get promoted either - as the Hellenic Div 2 is not an official feeder-league to the NL Pyramid.
Though oddly enough a few STEP05/06 Leagues do unoffically regard them as such and will accept them.

For 2023-24 the clubs voted to reduce to THREE divisions: West, Central & East from the 4 divisions last season (N,E,S & W.) - the 'footprint' is too large to reduce it still further and be viable - one of it's main criticisms from outside.

Some notable 'absences' of former 'members' - perhaps still seeking 'direct' promotion - include Kintbury, Lambourn, Launton, Newbury, Old Woodstock & Woodcote -
- the last of these cited ongoing non-availability of match officials, as a key reason for their move back to the North Berks League - which is also not classed as an official NL 'feeder' league - though again regarded by many 'unofficially' as STEP08.

The first teams listed before the season starts are:
- D2 West (2 of 12) : Shipston Excelsior and Uni of Bristol
- D2 Central (3 of 13) : Headington Amateurs, Letcombe, Watlington
- D2 East (9 of 12): Britwell, Chalfont Wasps, Chalvey Sports, Chinnor, FC Beaconsfield, Hazlemere Sports, Mortimer, Prestwood, Taplow Utd

...so IF the League site is correct only HALF of these could be playing at their 'own grounds'.
... may do a spot of 'delving' as there's a few up there (potentially) I've not 'ticked'.

Maidenhead United new stadium officially OFF.

Devastating news, it really could have made a huge difference to the club and community. Local council strikes again!

South East being packed full of NIMBYs presumably, wonder if any councillors will get booted out at the next local election because of it. Groundshare with Slough or Windsor & Eton a possibility - if it comes to that?

Sounds like Maidenhead Rugby put the boot in more than NIMBYs. Only ever been there with my sons for rugby. Whereabouts on Braywick Park where they planning on building the stadium?

Where the athletics track is now by the looks of the plans. There was literally no reason from a sporting perspective to veto the move, the football club would have built new facilities next to the stadium for athletics and rugby. Total joke.

I'd read of late that Bourton were in bother- real shame. Is a lovely setting but the whole area is predominantly sat on marshes/River courses - makes Scours look like the Gobi !!!
Had serious squad issues too of late and struggled to get a side out that could compete these last couple of seasons.
Will reportedly try keep their 'Reserve' sides' place in D2 and have made a late application to put a team into the bottom tier of the Witney & District ....where they came up from c. 10 years ago?

Think OBU are probably considering their 'Dev' sides' best placement in or outside the NL structure- balancing competitive opposition with travel/funding etc.
Their Firsts have done well in the SSM2 - poss. double-champions - but doubt their ground is anywhere near ready currently for a higher status.
