Grim start for the 'Freds' (Wantage) beaten 5-1 @ Brimscomb and relegated Highworth shared a blank at Slimbridge ...
...sadly Shrivenham have opted for demotion down to the county level (Wiltshire Premier) - but that league now looks quite 'enticing' with a few relatively 'big' sides in there for STEP07 - possibly all competing to get back up into the 'NLS' (main part of the Pyramid) : Trowbridge, Pewsey Vale, Amesbury, Shrewton and Kintbury.
....... four matches played in the Wessex Premier too - only promoted Petersfield among our 'featured' sides - L1-2 at home to US Portsmarf

Doesn't seem to have been mentioned anywhere but on 29 July Bury started their league season back at Gigg Lane with a 5-1 stuffing of Glossop North End (themselves former FL members, mainly as Glossop) in the North West Counties League Premier Division (Tier 9/Step 5).
Gate was 5,451 (think that's generally more than what they got in the FL, be interesting to see what they get when the novelty of being back at Gigg Lane has worn off)
Wonder if they're any better than Evens for the title.

...forecast floods and storms don't appear to have 'hit' just yet round here - only one declared Postponement in our area so far:Beeb reckons wet stuff is imminent though .....

The no 10 stood out for me think it was Sobte- very quick.
News this morning that in the FA cup next round the local derby between Wokingham & Embrook v Binfield is being played on Friday 18th August KO 7.45pm - should be a decent crowd.

Holyport's re-staged Ex Pre game v Hartpury - has now been re-scheduled for the 15th and moved to Summerleaze - the first game needed to be re-played after Refereeing error - using Sin Bin.
On Sun 20th the only Sunday tie in the FA Cup, currently, seems to be at Stag Meadow where 'lodgers' Virginia Water host Cribbs from Brizzle.
Most notable perhaps in the leagues was a big win (2-5) for 'exiled' Windsor at Holmer Gn.
I got to a couple of games - Tue saw Yateley's long 100% run in league games - stretching back to the end of 21-22 season - come to an end (but only just) at Woodley (Scours La) - finished 2-2 with the 'hosts' leveling deep into stoppage time.
....and on Wed eve Cove looked quite impressive winning, by the same score as Windsor above, away at Whitchurch.
Aldermaston not finding their switch to Wessex One quite as rewarding so far - fell to their 2nd league defeat, 0-1 also on Wed night at 'home' (Thatcham) to Ash.

Windsor & Eton playing 1st ever competitive game away at Reading U23s.
Venue has changed to Hartland Road in RG2, all weather pitch in a cage, no fans allowed inside the cage!
(BTW, Windsor are Windsor in name (and kit) only. In reality it’s Beaconsfield Reserves / U23s.)

I saw Binfield lose 0-6 at Ashford, and in truth they probably were lucky it was only 6.
Hard to tell if Ashford were great or Binfield were terrible, at this stage. Maybe a bit of both, but I'm learning towards the latter. Binfield were caught in possession so often that i was almost comical.

Very disappointing postponement of the game at Holyport yesterday. The visitors Wallingford and Crowmarsh turned up with a kit that clashed with the home teams and couldn’t within the refs timescale produce an alternative kit and the ref had no alternative to call the game off.
