Sanguine
Pepe the Horseman Solanke to Spurs for £65m.

Solanke has all the tools to keep scoring in the PL. But he's 26 and has one good PL season behind him. That fee is absurd.

Liverpool  all the way to the bank, they get 20% of it!

Spurs could play a front line of Solanke, Johnson & Richarlison, which cost them £170M

edit - I just learned Solanke is from the 'ding. anyone know whereabouts?

And they originally sold a Solanke with then one Premier League goal behind him to Bournemouth for £20m.

Whatever his form or fitness issues in the last few years, I'm not sure there will ever be a time when Mathias de Ligt is not a first-class signing. Real coup for United there, imho.

I don't watch enough European football to know, perhaps besides injuries, why he hasn't stuck it out for longer at either Juventus or Bayern.

looked sensational in his early days, never seemed to progress much after that when at top tier clubs (Eric Dier took his place in a number of games last season)

Better than Man Utd have now so should be an upgrade, but is really pretty slow, so if they go with a centre back pairing of Maguire & De Ligt up against a forward with pace, it could be quite something to watch. Is considered very good on the ball though.

Won the league with Juventus and was sold for €70M to BM. Good first season at BM not too sure what happened in the second season

Guess they need to replace Varane to fill their classy but injury prone centre back quota.

And... Zubimendi pledges his immediate future to Sociedad, his boyhood club. Which you have to admire, Gerrard-stylee, even if, to an extent like Gerrard, it shows a lack of ambition at the very top. Gerrard though thought he could take Liverpool to the top. I don't see that Zubimendi can be thinking the same.

He'd go to Real. Or PSG. Or probably City. Those the are the only clubs with that 'pull' at the moment. All roads lead to the Bernabeu, etc.

The 'Slot era' definitely has a 'Moyes era' feel to it so far. Kids being shown the door, failure to fill obvious squad gaps, players up for sale (Diaz, apparently). Has been an awful start for Richard Hughes as Sporting Director.

LOLIVERP   L, you really have to applaud FSG they really bring the comedy home every transfer window. They're the only other club in the 92 that have not signed anyone this window. They've been looking for a proper no 6 for 3 years and still can't get their act together. Liverpool fans now starting to get mightily ****** off with the ownership that sees promises made every year which then fail to materialise. Meanwhile even the likes of Wet Sham try to compete and improve every year while Liverpool show zero ambition to win anything of any note. Arsenal will get the title this year, Liverpool will probably stumble into 3rd or 4th, then will start the real fun for them as they can't even get the van Dijk, TAA and Salah deals extended.

Did once think TAA would be a Liverpool 'lifer' - can't quite believe they've let his deal run down so far.

I think he may not be as good as he threatened to be early on especially as Bayern Munich played Eric Dier ahead of him last season and his injury record is not that great.
Let's hope he is another Ten Hag flop.

Being one of Chelsea's accountants must be a thoroughly stressful job.

After all the spending that has already gone, they have signed 9 players for a combined £160m+ this summer.

They did at least convince Villa to pay £37.5m for Ian Maatsen.

Yes, it all feels a bit strange but maybe the club and the players are quite chilled about it all and it is just the media and fans getting flustered.
I do hope that Gordon doesn't come in and Diaz leaves but with South American players who knows how their families feel about living up North when they could be living in Spain with a common language?

In Arne we trust.

One thing's for sure, if TAA leaves for Madrid at Xmas for pocket change, FSG may as well just pack up and leave.

Klopp new what was coming and bolted at the right time. AS has absolutely no chance of top four this season IMO, and the fans will turn by xmas and vent at the wrong guy. We'll soon see the likes of VVD, TAA and Salah leg it!

Here's irony.

Conor Gallagher's moved to Atletico is on the verge of collapse, because the Spanish side need to sell a player in order to finance it. That player was going to be Samu Omorodion. He was going to move to Chelsea. Who apparently don't need to really finance anything. But the move has collapsed in a disagreement over image rights.

Lol.

Many are already venting at FSG and threatening boycotts of merchandising etc. it doesn't help that FSG keep going about what a prestige brand the club is and getting several sponsorship deals in over the line yet the fans get a ton of blether about improving the squad every year but only see proposed deals going down the toilet due to FSG penny pinching and/or dragging their feet when it comes to the important part. They're worrying that the so called "prestige" brand will start dwindling as success starts being taken by others.
