South Coast Royal
Sutekh Rumours spiralling that Liverpool are trying to end their pathetic summer business by failing to sign Alan Verela.

Don't fret-take a look at the squad which has decent cover in all positions and the club took the view that there was no point in buying anybody unless the team were greatly improved.

City have only brought in 2 players, one of which was the returning Gundogan whereas all the others have gone a bit crazy.

One big part of management is keeping players happy and when a number of new players come in it can disrupt matters (e.g. greedy bastard I need to be loved and live in London Sterling going to Arsenal) -there is a lot to be said for a settled squad, especially if that squad is already very good.

If Klopp had been there, I'd expect that team to take a run at the title. They would have needed a few additions to stop them from running out of steam at the back end of the season. Probably would have fallen short against the City juggernaut

Osimhen on loan to Galatasaray. Napoli have handled this whole thing shambolically and are paying the price.

Is the problem not Osimhen's obscene wage demands?

Napoli over valuing him and refusing to accept any sensible offers after his great season, demanding he could only go for €150M, while at the same time the money was falling out of the arse of the football world (bar a few clubs in the PL). they were so keen to make sure they got a jackpot amount that they gave him a new contract which had a release clause reportedly between €130M - €150M, and to get him to sign it they upped his wages to a number north of €200,000 a week.

He then goes on to have an ok season, but a bit stop start with games missed due to injury, as the team struggle, yet Napoli are still saying they want €150M for him.

Saudi team reportedly offered €120M for him just recently but he turns it down as he wants to stay in Europe. Napoli get pissed off and don't register him in their squad for the 24/25 season, presumably in the hope that he goes back and takes the Saudi offer as their transfer window is still open, he still refuses and says he will sit in the reserves for the season, knowing that will further drive down his price. In the end they agree a loan deal to Galatasaray and he has apparently negotiated with Napoli that they will now accept €75M to let him go, which is less than they paid for him when they signed him.

tldr - they had a valuable asset which they could have cashed in on but got greedy and hung on hoping to drive the price up, but all the while they were doing that, people were losing interest and his value was going down

Reported in L'Equipe that Lyon's 20 year old Ghanaian winger Ernest Muamah was sent over to London to join Fulham for €19M against his wishes on deadline day, and was in tears throughout the day telling Lyon he didn't want to leave. Getting towards the end of his Fulham medical and he just up and left, walked out and no one knew where he went or was able to reach him, including his agent. This meant the deal collapsed.

what a way to treat someone

Bizarre story coming out of the end of the transfer window.

Ernest Nuamah, a 20-year-old winger at Lyon was set to sign for Fulham but was in 'floods of tears' during his medical because he didn’t want to leave the French club, and felt he was being forced out against his will.

He started undergoing his medical but fled and vanished before the final stage could be completed, with no one, not even his agent, able to locate him, meaning the move had to be abandoned altogether. That left Lyon owner John Textor penning a formal apology to Fulham over the way things had gone.

Ah, snap!

Player now back at the club and the owner says that he has 'restored relations' with him, and he will be integrated back into the squad.

I missed Wilfried Zaha joining Lyon

apparently done for tax reasons as him moving back to the UK from Turkey would have meant he was liable for tax in both, same as why Jordan Henderson went to the Netherlands rather than back here
