...fairly quiet midweek locally - think it was a dedicated 'Cup' week for some leagues. Nothing of note at STEP03/04 -

In NAT-N Brackley sit in lower mid-table after suffering their 4th defeat of the season - at home to Chorley 0-2 att 535.
The NAT-S games saw defeats for Farnborugh and Slough - Dorking W. lost on Monday night @ Aveley - Hemel took top spot the same night with a 4-2 win over Welling in front of over 800.
Only bright spot was Chesham picking up 3 points down at Salisbury - former 'Robin' Joe Grant on the score sheet for the 'Generals'.

Three 'local' sides were defeated in CCL-PN : 'Sumas' led at Ardley but ended up well beaten 6-3 - conceded 5 in about 15' early 2nd half having been 1-3 up. :shock: Host leaders North Greenford @ Emmbrook tomorrow (Friday evening)
Reading City fell 2-3 at Rivermoor at home to Holyport and VW lost 1-2 at home (Slough) to Wembley.
Leaders NGU lost their 100% record held 0-0 at Berkeley Fields by Egham
In the Southern Premier section Sandhurst lost 0-3 at new leaders Knaphill. The 'Knappers' dislodge Whyteleafe who were beaten 3-4 @ home by 3rd placed Redhill. Alton won at Spelthorne.
Div One saw a fair number of games :
- lights going out at Stag Meadow featured above - is reportedly the 2nd time in a week and the Chairman stood and apologized personally to those leaving the ground after the curtailment.
Windsor were walloped 0-6 at Brook House. Woodley beaten 1-3 at Deportivo and Langley went down 1-2 at Hillingdon who are much improved from last term.
Holmer G also going far better this season, won 2-0 at home vs Chalfont
Eversley & C won 2-1 at Molesey and Yateley suffered a 2-3 reverse at home to Westside.
only one Wessex League game to report Ash edging out Whitchurch 1-0 in Div One

67 A.F.C. Croydon Athletic v Beaconsfield Town
68 Hayes & Yeading United v Leatherhead
- watched HandY bow out of the FA Cup in a 1st Q replay on Tue evening up at at the SkyEx vs 'Margit'.
- expected more of them. They'd started well with two convincing away wins but they were out run and out passed on the night by the visitors, who'd so far only drawn all three games in the Isthmian One - South East section.
- both clubs rather unexpectedly relegated last term. Not my first time at the SkyEx - is sited not far from the old Yeading ground
- finally the Bar is open - had been unavailable for a few years due to safety cert. issues - Stadium opened in 2016/17 I believe?
- I think I read or was told recently, some of the ground issues still haven't quite been resolved. :?

...and finally : dipped into the TVL on Wed night - trundled up to Mill La for Premier fixture Henley Town 0-5 Woodcote.
Scoreline a bit harsh on the hosts but Woodcote are full of goals - that's 20 in their 3 away games so far.
Always a pleasure here (apart from the parking if you arrive too late :roll: )
- crowd was close to three figures. Nice to see them thrive off the pitch - have re-furbed the clubhouse again and now have a Food Van on site - the Mill Lane Cafe.

Brackley lost their key player preseason, after he was arrested for distributing drugs. Shepherd Murombedzi will be a huge loss and the replacements don't look up to the task. The team is in turmoil. (Obviously not Reading-level turmoil, but turmoil nonetheless.)

Does anyone know what's going on at Bracknell? First the manager goes then their star player, has the money run out or something happened behind the scenes or is it simply just some of those that happen in NL?

... even Div One weighed in with 46 from their 10 games this PM.

- asforme - I stayed fairly local at a STEP07 Thames Valley League fixture & a 'new tick' amongst the leafier outskirts of Sluff.
I had Arbour Park or Burnham on standby but the M4 & the weather behaved and both sides turned up for the 14:00 KO ! :mrgreen:
Bottom hosting Top : Slough Heating Laurencians 4-1 Woodcote - bit of an upset here as hitherto 'pointless' SHL eventually romped past free-scoring & 100% leaders Woodcote (20 goals in three without replay, before this game.) Hosts grabbed three goals very late on to turn the game on it's head - though oddly enough the visitors seemed well-out of sorts going forward.
Lovely setting here (if you can say that about anywhere near Slough} :? :P
Complex is set opposite Stoke Park in big open Rec behind the Polish Assoc. club. Very comfy bar and even a restaurant upstairs in a big old posh house. Couple of bottles of Perla too made for a very pleasant PM. :D

Very impressed with my 1st time visit to MK Irish. Big complex with several pitches for football and Rugby( i think) Nice bar- pint of Hobgoblin went down well as did the Cheese burger !. One side of the pitch has a stand going the full length of the pitch whilst near the dugouts opposite is a smaller stand- notices say it’s an all seater stadium which i found unusual.
Irish were impressive in the 4-0 win coming after a 8-0 win in the league on Saturday. Less said about Risborough Rangers the better - very poor. Top condition grass pitch as well.

RE Farnborough: this is the Chairman/Owner doing his customary two fingers to the Hants FA for matters past.
They did the same thing or similar with the line-up last season vs Folland Sports.
All goes back to an earlier expulsion, for a dubious player mis-registration, months after the original tie was played.
County Comps are notorious for this kind of paper-work/regulatory snarl-up - see the B&B Trophy classic from possibly as long as 10 years ago when ALL four semi-Finalists were expelled or withdrew before they could be!! :D

..... so Spencer took his ball home/threw his toys out etc etc and now does this.
Slightly pity any neutrals not aware of the disagreement, who went along expecting a competitive tie (probably got charged a tenner too! :? )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...glad you liked Mk Irish - I went some years back but honestly can't recall which manifestation of MK/Bletchley was hosting games there back then.
The old ground was mostly a derelict shell but with potential to upgrade within a large open complex and of course the Bar was a thriving concern then too.
At least Maidenhead Utd do the decent thing. For the last 3 seasons have pulled out of the B & B Senior cup, normally after playing one match and often at short notice :(
