DOYLERSAROYALER ...admire the stance Huddersfield are taking given that they will only know too well that if Rhodes doesn't deliver in the Championship ..his asset value to club will greatly decrease...equally if he does what he did in League 1, it goes in part to justifying today's valuation the club have of him...

To be fair, he doesn't have to do THAT much to validate 6-7m. Survival will do that.

Charlie Austin on his way to Huddersfield according to the Sun today.

is this the signal to release Rhodes. Might this explain why Brian was looking so happy during the Sky interview yesterday?

You can still get him at 5/1 if you think it's gonna happen

Only thing with that is it would only leave us three centre halves, so if Morrison goes I'd expect to see at least one more centre half come in as well...

Yeah and I'm sure it's a right back that we're close to signing. Just meant Huddersfield would be doing well if they sell Rhodes and get Austin for half the price.

I predict we will get either Rhodes or Defoe. We need another striker anyway. Hunt/Church won't score 10 next season and neither will Roberts. Rhodes and Defoe would cost £6million. Rhodes is a natural goalscorer like ALF and Defoe is in his peak years. Defoe wants £60k+ a week Rhodes would be around the £25k mark.
Morrison changed his profile pic to one of him in a Hudds shirt there is no way we would sell him to Hudds without Rhodes coming to us.

Not going to happen, we have enough strikers. One more signing and it's going to be a right back.

How can you say we have enough strikers!!!!
Roberts is old and will not cope in the PL. Church will not score. Hunt will seriously struggle. ALF and Pog will cope.
Church is going out onloan/sold leaving 4 strikers.
If one of the 4 strikers gets injured/banned it leaves 3 meaning only one on the bench which is not enough. WE NEED ANOTHER STRIKER END OFF DISCUSSION.

Kitson, Doyle, Lita, Long, Seol.

Kitson injured for the vast majority of the season.

Roberts, Pogrebnyak, Hunt, Le Fondre, Church, McCleary, Sheppard.

Looks ok to me.

Ideal
Ian Royal Roberts, Pogrebnyak, Hunt, Le Fondre, Church, McCleary, Sheppard.

McLeary intended for left wing.
Sheppard isn't likely to be named in the 25.

That leaves Roberts, Pog, Alf, Hunt and Church.
For the sake of argument, let's assume that Brian knows Church can't hit a barndoor and that Hunt is championship level material.
That means we have Roberts, Pog and Alf. I can see why we would want to get another striker in, Roberts/Pog are similar, Alf is a finisher, so we'd want another of the Rhodes type.

Exactly. We need a natural finisher similar to Rhodes, if not Rhodes. Sheppard will not be in the 25 and McCleary is never a striker.
If we stay up this season I reckon this will be Hunts and Roberts last season in the blue and white hoops.

They were good enough to win the championship, you have no way of knowing if they'll produce enough. Point is we have 5-6 recognized strikers plus 2 or 3 who can fill in if necessary. That's more than most prem clubs, you're talking rubbish.

As teams tend to give you a bit more time in the premiership, I think that Church might surprise a few people. I must admit that I have never really rated him but people that know much more about football than me do. Some players can look better in the premiership than the championship and that may apply to Church.
