In defence of Hoilett, for the first third of the season, he was the only Hibs player who seemed to know what the round, bouncy thing was for

The Inverness gr8 escape still very much ON!

2 points away from getting out of the relegation zone now, and they've been so good since they had their points docked that if you gave them back those points they would be level with the league leaders

Celtic sell Kyogo to Rennes, the blow being softened by Jota, who in his last spell at Celtic was head and shoulders the best player in the league, going the other way.

Looks like Kieran Tierney will also be rejoining Celtic from Arsenal.

2 very decent signings. Shows what regular Champions League football can do for you.

Yes, thanks to UEFA’s changes, Celtic now get 8 games a season instead of 6.

Ayr in 2nd place in the Championship and on a good run of form. Not been in the top div for almost half a century. would be nice to see them go up, just a shame Scott Brown is their manager

...and an extra £8m in prize money in a league where the average player salary is £300k. Rangers get 2 extra games as well in the Europa league

Don't think Celtic are that vexed by 2 extra games as it bakes in their financial advantage.

A blow for ICT as they lose and their rivals win. they had got to 2 points from getting out the relegation zone but are now back to 4 points

unrelated - I only learned yesterday that Queens Park are back at Hampden again after a 5 year break

Aren’t Queens Park looking at making a permanent move to Lesser Hampden at some point now that they’re professional rather than amateur?

Celtic lose at resurgent Hibs but Rangers fail to take advantages, losing at home to St Mirren.

A 95th minute winner for Alloa against Annan means Inverness are back to being just 2 points away from getting out the relegation zone and they have a game in hand

Should be more credit for Alloa as they are one of the very few remaining semi professional/amateur sides in the upper levels of the senior Scottish league system and, in recent seasons, they've hung around the lower 2nd and upper 3rd tiers.

St. Johnstone playing on Sky. The pitch is pretty much just mud.

Also saw a John 3:16 sign up. First one I've seen in years. Used to see them at football all the time in the 80's & 90's

St Johnstone are an odd team. They actually play fairly decent football under Simo Valikari but just have a knack of losing games by the odd goal. Celtic are the only team to have really battered them since he took charge.

Paul Ince would be the logical next step.

Wouldn't surprise me if Gerrard went back.

Barry Ferguson seems to be the bookies' favourite but that would be a completely mad appointment based on sentimentality.

Winston Biscuit Just looked up Clydebank. crikey, they've been through the ringer. didn't realise they had fallen so far

Clydebank has had a succession of clubs called Clydebank. They’re well used to one club folding and being replaced by another (on average every 30 years or so). I lost track of them when the third (I think) incarnation moved to Airdrie and became Airdrie United (now Aidrieonians again). Seems this current incarnation started in 2003 so should have at least another 10 years or so of life left in them.

The ground is what it is as they now play in the West of Scotland League (currently stylised as the Greenversity league), the winners of which would get promoted into the Lowland League. So they’re currently at tier 6 in Scottish football. Clydebank are currently top of the Premier Division, are unbeaten in the league and have a game in hand on the club in second.

When they were at their best level (late 70s & early 80s) they were playing at (New) Kilbowie Park (below). That ground was sold out from under Clydebank by its owners for retail and restauranting in 1996 and the club were forced to ground share at Boghead until the Airdrie thing happened (Airdrieonians entered bankruptcy and the owners of the subsequent phoenix club, Airdrie United, basically bought Clydebank to reclaim a place for an Airdrie club in the Scottish League).

That's looks like a pretty impressive ground for the time. Shame what the owners did.

Seems a very odd decision, but at least its until the end of the season. Would say Clement was doing very well in Europe, but there's too much short-termism domestically and this means yet another reset. Rangers haven't given a manager a meaningful period of time to build a team since Gerrard left.
