woodley_royal_124 This may have been said already.....haven't read all of the thread but feel that rules about red cards and 3 match bans are unfair on a team, especially if its their striker that gets sent off and the team are in the relegation zone - also feel FA are more inflexible than ever on getting red cards rescinded.......is it because they lose out financially I wonder ?

Your latter point, I tend to agree.

Your former point - I don't quite understand where you're coming from. Am I right in assuming you mean that it's unfair for a player in a team in a relegation zone to receive a 3 match ban because he's punched someone around the chops, but it's ok for a player in the playoffs to receive the same punishment? :|

The number of cards that get over turned is a complete joke....

It used to be the case that you could only get a card over turned on the basis of mistaken identity whereas now clubs appeal for the sake of it and too often the appeal gets upheld.

IMHO any appeal should be balanced by the ban being doubled if it fails, not just a one match ban. And players should be suspended pending an appeal so they can't 'do a Rio' and appeal just so they can play in a specific game. Probably a bit unjust and againmst their human rights but the system currently is way too lenient and undermines the authority of referees.

Ideal They should make the penalty for going into administration 30 points.

It depends. If a club has slipped into debt, tried to reduce their budget etc, in short done all they can to avoid debt, then they shouldn't be treated harshly. If a club has willfully run a up a debt, they should have the book thrown at them.

I'd bring in a system like Aussie Rules, where players are reported and their offence dealt with by a panel after the game, handing out fines and/or bans as required.

I'd bring back capital punishment for feigning in injury. No appeal, no post mortem to see it they actually had suffered any tissue damage.
