No Fixed Abode Yep, that 7-1 demolision of Villa was awesome.

How did Chelsea get on in the CL this week? I must have missed their result.

Ark Royal Great fightback by the Arse, but the penalty was a pathetic decision.

Careful, Arsenal only ever get decisions against them remember. Sickening scenes as the most pretentious club in football get back into the game through blatant gamesmanship. Is there a more dislikeable footballer around than Fabregas?

It was a penalty, what are you carrots on about. Red card however was very harsh and of fabregas needed no encouragement to go down. Edgar davids is a little more neutral than you guys and he thought it was a penalty. I can think of many more dislikable players than fabregas.

^ Agreed.

Re the red card being harsh - don't forget that this is the CL, finers, where the severity of the punishment is exponentially harsher than that of the English leagues. Not surprised to see Puyol sent off, despite how soft it may have been.

Where Arsenal are concerned, you just type and hit submit, don't you?

I've grown increasingly tired of a team and manager I used to like and respect, Starfish. I have lost respect and patience for Arsenal almost exponentially since Gallas went for a corner flag paddy at Birmingham a couple of years back. Since then they have become embittered, petulant and pretentious. F*ck 'em.

Glad to see Puyol get a red- he's a fabulous defender, but also a diving cheating pcunt himself, so swings and roundabouts. Was a blatant pen IMO, absolutely no doubt at all.

Just got done watching Inter v. CSKA --not bad, and the visitors would've deserved at least an away goal for their effort but didn't get it, and I like Inter to score in Moscow and progress, ho hum

I'd checked outta here @ HT of the other one in case somebody started squawking about happenings @ San Siro; I see that I need not have worried

The inevitabLOLe for Arsenal only has been forestalled with that nice little fightback from them --Cesc or not, they were always gonna get slaughtered on Tueserz

Whole thing reminds me a bit of Hagler v. Hearns

And I thought the referee'ing was calamitous going both ways

I allow myself to watch that fight about once a year. Fantastic first round.

Two nicely poised matches next week.
Could go either way.

Rulez iz rulez though. There were some questionable decisions last night, but the ref couldn't not send him off in that position...by the letter of the law.

Can't see Arsenal winning through. They were hopelessly outclassed for 70 minutes last night. T'other game looks a close call though.

I'm not saying they are favourites, but if they squeak a narrow win, they're through.
They would have had that after 60odd minutes at the Emirates, they have a chance.
Manchester Utd vs Munich is tight.

What a sensational first 30 minutes last night-Barcelona could easily have been 6-0 up but for an inspired Almunia.
Other than Brazil in the 1970 World Cup that is the best football I have seen in my lifetime bearing in mind that Barcelona were playing away against one of the top 3 sides in England-breathtaking and all of that without Iniesta.
For those clinging to the belief that losing their 2 centre-backs will drastically reduce Barcelona's capability remember they have Mexico's centre-back Marques,Argentina's Millito,Busquets who played there away at Chelsea last season in the semi-final and Toure who played at centre-back in last year's final.

My view is that Barcelona's coach was guilty of unprofessional soppiness by bringing Henry on for a last hurrah to Arsenal and in doing so allowed Arsenal to make the most of the scraps they were fed.
What a really soft penalty as well.
