Shaka's Giant Hands
exileinleeds Something someone on here wrote made me back Huigain for the golden boot. Not a bad move- I got 18/1 - down now to 3/1.

Exile...I'm with you, think that it may well be this that your referring to...

'TOP GOALSCORER Villa is the obvious choice, and Spain could well score loads, but Villa is too short for me, and I have always thought Argentina look like a team that is full of goals. If, as seems likely, Maradona goes with a 4-3-3 employing Higuain up top with Di Maria and Messi out wide, then Higuain will look huge at 26.0. Im also on at 25/1 ew with Will Hill. The value is already gone on Messi (now 12.0) but I have backed the up and coming Benfica youngster Di Maria, rumoured to be signing for Real Madrid in a £40m move this week, at 1000.0. and 150 for top 4. I have also had small investments in a couple of Spain’s wide men, in Navas at 920 average and 120 top 4 and Silva at 700 average and 100 top 4. '

I only know that because it inspired me to 8) £5.00 each way at 18/1 will do nicely!

I posted (but admittedly didn't write) the above, but you don't get me acting the pcunt about how much I've got on which bets.

bobbys absolutely right it's completely uninteresting to everyone else and is just showing off, even worse if done after the event. If you are going to do it though then at least tell us you put on more than a fiver, christ on a bike, live a little.

exileinleeds Mags does not apologise, who has nicked your login? I could not imagine having £1000 on any bet- I thought I was being daring backing SA to beat France with a whole £5

Err, I was taking the piss out of you.

Couldn't really care if you find it uninteresting, am I showing off, no not really. As you say yourself I put a fiver each way...probably not the biggest bet going and certainly nothing to shout about. Just merely pointing out that there was something written on here about it and that people obviously took that advice.

Check my posts and you will see that I have posted numerous bets that I have placed...including losers.

Sorry shaka no beef with you at all, didn't mean it that way. It's exiles image of "ooh this betting game is fun isn't it, I don't really know what I'm doing but everything I bet on seems to come in" that I'm finding extremly irksome.

Yes quite, not to mention (okay, i'm posting purely to mention this) scaling a hitherto untold plateau of bullshit when it comes to after-timed bets.

leww_rfc Thinking of getting my old man to throw £15 on an accumulator tomorrow morning for the group winners..

A-France Must win tomorrow
B-Argentina should do it
C-England dunno what to think
D-Germany should do it
E-Holland should do it
F-Italy also dunno what to think
G-Brazil should do it
H-Spain Must win their games and hope for results

thoughts?

I've done exactly that with £10 at 32.67.

I think France will oxf*rd me over.

I think France should beat Mexico tomorrow. But not by 3 goals. I also think Spain will win their other two games. It might not be over. :D

It's over

What were the odds for France to go out at the group stage? Pre-tournament.

Although, let's face it, there would be a lot less narkiness on this thread if anyone but EIL was actually managing to win anything significant.

For those that still think Higuain may still have a gr8 tournament, Ladbrokes were 50/1 after today's match for him to be named Player of the Tournament. Very good price considering he's got 3 goals already to his name.

Re After timed bets- (I assume you mean declaring a bet was made, after the result is made?) I havent actually won anything on Huigain. I read something on here before the tournament began, punted a couple of quid. Today he happened to have a brilliant game, and I was a bit pleased- especially considering he got all 3. Messi/Rooney/Villa have yet to score I believe? Will that still be the case in a couple of weeks?
Long way to go. It is an each way bet that might make me....about £50 if he wins. Nothing compared to what some are gambling- they know and study a lot more than I. I have done a couple of spur of the moment very lucky punts on Ghana and Japan, a whole £9,66 on Japan.

It says a lot about some people on here when rather than be pleased that someone is happy, they would rather bitch and be nasty.

FTR I backed Holland based on a 6-1 win in a warm up. 10/1 seemed like a not impossible task, I have £20 on. I am aiming to have my ST paid by the end of the tournament- if I fail, well my stake money was £30- I can afford to lose that, but I aim to make it last.

Bitching aside, I appreciate the answers you have given me to genuine questions, and I hope you all enjoy success, but mostly, doesn't it just amount to a bit of fun?

Just gone for a less-than-exciting Eng/Ger double today.

Might punt on something more interesting later today if imagination grips me.

After the event bet posts are always looked upon as total bollox, no one posts after the event losing bets.

Just checked my stash of Coral slips (sadly I like to get a couple of slips, keep hold of them to check odds after the event), France were 2/1 to go out at the group stage which pre-tournament would have looked VERY short!
