soggy biscuit Quite enjoyed the game but can never find myself finding it amazing due to the sheer volume of diving and nasty little bits of behavior throughout the match

Given how both Pepe and Fabregas dived to the floor after Pepe visciously brushed his eyelashes against Fabregas's they both deserved to have their heads stamped on, repeatedly until 90 mins was up.

They have won 45 of them.

Current win streak in the league is 18, and they have won their last 21 at home.

Ronaldo wrote some accusations on twitter about the Clasico ref then deleted it. Now he has spoken to the press and has continued on the same theme:
We played against 12 men, that ref is not up to the big games, he was nervous and made the wrong calls.

Barcelona were almost out of the title race before the game, now I think we will see the inclusion of Barcelona as I understand well what these people want and how they seek their goals, and how they deal with referee's.

I have been here 5 years and know that Barcelona don't only play on the pitch, their arms stretch outside the pitch to win too. It keeps us thinking that winning the Clasico isn't only inside the football stadium but there are external factors, there are those that don't want us to win, because if we did Barcelona would be out of the title

I understand in general that it is important to some people that Barcelona stays in the title race. I have been here 5 years and understand well how things work now.

can't see that going down too well

in January soggy biscuit Barcelona say they are talking with Messi over a new contract and confirm they want to make him the highest paid player in the world. he is already reportedly on £260,000 after tax.

It will be his 7th new contract in 9 seasons

Barcelona's new president confirms Messi rejected a new contract in January and they are now negotiating on a higher wage

We all want Messi to be the best-paid player in the world and that is what we are working on

It is mostly down to image rights apparently. barcelona players have always had to hand 50% to the club but Neymar kept 100% of his as part of his transfer so Messi now wants that too while also asking to earn more on his basic wage than Ronaldo

A friend of mine is in Monte Carlo and is privvy to some discussions going on about a break away league (they expect it's still 10 years away unless UEFA force the situation) and they're also discussing a FFP cap.
Right now there is no fixed figure because they could not agree on one. There is a committee which will look at potential abuses (the assumption is that impacts PSG and Manchester City only). Putting a fixed figure (£120m was suggested) hits Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid hard. There is also one club concerned about sanctions and have already made it clear they would take UEFA to court if any were imposed on them. Zenit are the only club currently threatening to take legal action if these sanctions are imposed. For those of us left behind, the big tv deals will follow these clubs and leave us with very little.

Barca and Atletico win and Real lose. Atletico now top on 73 points, Barca 72, Real 70.

Real lose out to both those clubs on head to head record too so Atletico being 3 points ahead means they need them to slip up twice now.

Atletico have to play away at 4th placed Athletic Bilbao at the weekend, away at Barcelona after that, away at 7th placed Villarreal, away at 9th placed Valencia and away at 10th placed levante so don't have it easy at all.

Barcelona have a comparatively easy run in. Real Madrid now have the easiest run in of the lot.

If Barcelona beat Atletico at the weekend I think the title is theirs

Victor Valdez out for 6 months so no world cup and that will also be his last game for Barcelona as he confirmed he is off in the summer some time ago

Bale getting a lot of stick in Spain this morning apparently. not only was he completely woeful last night but he chose to wear a new prototype boot which he then he to ask to change mid match as he didn't like them, while he was at the side of the pitch changing them RM let a goal in.

He was awful as were Ronaldo and Benzema. Madrid didn't take their chances, especially in the first, Sevilla did and deserved to win. Unlike Certain other clubs they didn't need the referee's help to do it.

If you get the chance check out the 1st touch from Rakitic in the build up to the second.

That could be one hell of a final fixture though - could be like Liverpool v Arsenal all those years ago.
