Rats and sinking ships spring to mind.

No doubt he'll surface at the next club that goes into financial difficulty and screw them into the ground too.

Why did he bother sacking Reid?

* conspiracy mode on*

Maybe Reid knew too much about the dodgy goings-on and Ridsdale was afraid he'd talk to the FA / whoever. Sack him with a big payoff and a confidentiality clause and no-ones any the wiser.

* conspiracy mode off*

roadrunner
T.R.O.L.I. Dean Saunders replaces the sacked Sean O'Driscoll at Doncaster Rovers.

That is bonkers! O'Driscoll is a good manager and his sides play some lovely football. Not sure why it's suddenly gone wrong at Doncaster though.

They lost Billy Sharp to injury

As much as I'd love that to be correct and for Risdale to be hounded out of football for good, I think this move has more to do with the bid he was part of falling away. James Brent's bid, the fans prefered buyer, is meant to be in the home straight now, so Risdale, who's agreement to buy the club for £1 was with an opposing bid, has agreed to step aside.

There are shades of Bournemouth with Plymouth's situation at the moment. Few experienced players on the books over the summer, management team made up of senior players, recent takeover by a local businessman to save the club. Bit of a change in fortune from a few years ago where their brick by brick, 'spend within your means' philosophy was more in line with RFC than AFCB. The extra overseas investment that was promised but never really materialised led to PAFC's downfall, a lesson for disgruntled RFC fans perhaps?!

For those interested, this article is about a fans re-united day organised by Brighton fans. Nice story behind it, shame that a personal interest in the club through family led me to hearing about it, rather than seing it publicised on the sports news channels, who are obviously too busy letting us know how great the £400 million spent by Premiership clubs over the summer was. :roll: http://www.argylefanstrust.com/2011/09/19/fans-reunited-saturday-24th-september/

Fired less than 24 hours after the chairman said:

'For the people shouting for the manager's head, I ask the questions 'who would you replace him with? Who is better?' I can't think of any manager that is better equipped for the job, and those clubs who sack managers willy nilly end up relegated.

'The board and I are not going down that path. You only have to look at our neighbours Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday - need I say more?'

soggy biscuit Can we stop wasting time and just put Steve McLaren's name in here now?

Having lost 5-1 tonight I'll be very surprised if he's still in charge at Forest come tomorrow morning.

Does anyone else seeing Joe Jordan trudging round the Elm Park pitch post game humiliation that led to his demise a Bristol City Manager?

2313: Tuesday, 27 September might just be remembered as the night football finally went bonkers. As well as the Man City Carlos Tevez debacle, under pressure Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren went into meltdown with his side 4-0 down at half-time against Burnley. He sat in the dug-out on his own at the interval and ordered his players to stay out on the pitch until the start of the second half. McClaren said "At the end of the day, players cross the white line and they have to be responsible for performance, so yeah we sent them out early at half time." Forest lost 5-1 in the end. On his future, McClaren added: "it's for other people to decide about my job."

bristol city thumped 5-0 today and that will almost certainly be the end of keith millen. city fans seem to think brian tinnion will get the job which would be another big risk.
