Yes but the Torres signing had nothing to do with the form, Luiz had more to do with that. Your slump was more to do with Ray Wilkins leaving!

Not really a mature response to an opinion

The item on the OS also says we are in discussions to bring another centre back in, now if that is someone with a bit of experience at this level then Sonko back on trial is woorth looking at.

We are still being linked with Luke Chambers, but I just can't see that one happening......

Not sure what the fuss is here. Seems similar to when we brought Hendrie in last summer, we're just taking a look and giving the player a chance to prove himself.

McD knows him very well but won't risk a contract if it's not right. If he isn't we'll show him the door, if he looks decent then we'll bring him in and we potentially have a steal.

1 year contract then fine, anything more and i think it is a backwards step. Must just put into perspective what lack of free CBs there are.

Mills out Sonko in

I would LOVE that if it does though. Would be one of our best signings IMO.

Sonko was so fast, strong and good in the air at his peak that he would certainly rank above Mills for me.

But I do think Mills could do more with the ball at his feet than Sonko.

Now people are beginning to see my point

Shame Mills never actually used that footballing ability, instead spending most his time seeing red, or punting the ball aimlessly forward trying to be Beckham, when he could do so much more if he had a brain.

And frankly, tippy tappy footballing skills are secondary at centreback compared to being quick and dominating in the air and on the deck.

I have faith that McDermott, knowing Sonks and his injury, will be smart enough to decide if Sonko is worth taking now and if he's still a total lunging liability. If he's managed to sort his head out and get over the loss of some of his pace and athleticism (not necessarily replace it) then he could be the ideal partner for Pearce.

We'll just have to wait and see. But currently Sonko >>>>> no Sonko.

You know, if I hated a club quite so much I don't think I'd bother to have anything to do with them - let alone comment upon everything they do.

I don't think this is likely to end well. I'd rather have two unproven League 1 defenders.

dont think it would be a bad thing if we signed him.

would still expect to see a quality CB brought in though as imo pearce, morrison and sonko still leaves us a bit short

overall a good, low cost squad player in a position we are lacking numbers in

pace=forster I seem to recall he refused to train with the reserves at one point?

He, and someelse I have forgotten the name of, refused training with the reserves because "they thought they were to big" for the reserves. But Sonko did score some important goals in the run up to him being sold. I also remember him prioritising Reading over this countrys team. So overall a good Reading player.

From Fordham's twitter: Bongani Khumalo is wanted by readingfc according to @football_agent9, but Rangers are also keen on the Spurs centre back :|
