All that patience with Keane, then dumping two managers in 6 months how utterly bloody ridiculous can you get.

Bet they go for Brian next.......

Royal With Cheese We thought we had a badly run club.

No we didn't.

I mean it's not like we sacked a manager who won manager of the month in January is it?

Yeah, it's fcuking disgraceful to sack a manager when you're 4 points off safety having just lost at home to your two relegation rivals, and who happened to win MotM a couple of months ago after a couple of decent comebacks in games we weren't even in until the last 10 minutes.

So, we're basing a sacking on a couple of games? With no replacement lined up? Yes, that's very well thought out.

Gents,

behaviour toler8ed on the Team Board has no place in General Football ('cept on the CheLOLsea and LOLiverpool threads of course).

Take that shizzle elsewhere.

No, we're basing the sacking on the season as a whole which has left us in 19th position and very little hope of survival. The January MotM was based on a couple of games.

Whether you agree with the sacking or not, the decision was not completely ridiculous (as shown by the poll that has more people agreeing with the sacking than against) and is in absolutely no way comparable to Blackburn's situation of having sacked 3 managers in 5 months.

Actually at the end of January we were out of the bottom 3 and had the Villa and Wigan games to come.

Obviously I'm not making comparisons between ourselves and Blackburn - quite the opposite if you read it again.

However, if you think that sacking a manager on a whim after a fantastic January and having no replacement lined up is the reaction of a well managed club then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

It wasn't on a 'whim'

We were 19th and gone! Winning a couple of games is irrelevant if you can't back it up. Being out of the relegation zone at the end of January is irrelevant if you then lose 4 games in a row and plunge yourself right back into some very deep doodoo.

It's been a horrendous season, full of disappointing football and disappointing results, that was briefly punctured by a couple of rousing comebacks. McDermott had not done a good job of the season, failed to recognise the need for 4-5-1 early enough, and as a result we have been defeated in just about every 'relegation 6 pointer' we've taken part in.

It was a harsh decision because of his former successes, but not a ridiculous one, and the strength of Anton's plan can only be judged over time. Calling us a 'badly run club' based on this one decision alone is plain daft.

As for a 'replacement', I don't see the relevance. McDermott's was a sinking ship, he'd lost the crowd and seemingly some of the players. We're no worse off with Dolan in charge till we find a new guy.

As I said, we're going to have to agree to disagree. We'll see in time if it was the right decision and whether Anton will back the new manager with cash.

Just said on R5 that Appleton arrived to take training this morning and his PA handed him a letter saying he was sacked.

Can't say he didn't deserve it after dumping on Blackpool.

Still, I'm sure he'll have a nice pay off. Being shit really is rewarded when you're a football manager!

Bit unfair on Appleton I reckon - now if you had said "Being over-rated really is....etc"

Venkys are absolutely mental and the madness shows no signs of abating, really is a horror story of a new owner! Anton could probably burn an effigy of Parky in the centre circle while wearing a Swindon kit and retain a higher approval rating from his own fans than them.

I thought it was clear he left Blackpool as the chairman reneged on promises regarding budget etc that he was given when taking over?

Yep, "another day, another manager"

Slightly non-league but, Darije Kalezic sacked by Stockport after just 50 days
