What a waste of effort ?
What exactly does it prove ?

Would have been more pertinent if it had been a revised table with the WRONG VAR decisions implemented correctly.
Theres’s been quite a few of those

Its a strange rule about what happens around a “second phase of play”

Antonio’s goal for West Ham (an obvious and evident handball), couldn’t be reversed because his initial shot was saved, hence the rebound was classified as a different phase. Why is that a thing, are we really punishing goalies for saving shots now!

That "without VAR" table is a complete load of bollox.

Every match is an evolving narrative, where what has happened before in a game will affect everything that happens after it. So just taking every "goal" as an isolated incident and ignoring the affect they have on whether a team attacks or defends afterwards is futile.

Even more so when offside flags aren't given as much now because of the existence of VAR - that changes the whole paradigm too.

WTF are they playing at this weekend

Wolves denied a penalty when the assistant referee is at least 5 yards behind play and gives offside when it didn’t look like it
And now Brighton denied a massively clear penalty - how that can be seen as anything other than a huge mistake by the onfield referee is beyond me

Was the TAA push a penalty or not? I ask purely because it wasn't given which makes me question what is and isn't a foul?

Haven’t seen that one, assuming it’s another TAA after last week

There’s a huge number of people that have no clue any more as to what is and isn’t a foul
That includes fans, pundits, managers, players and officials

Heard Sue Smith yesterday say that a two footed challenge was only yellow because he got the ball :|
I’m sure a two footed challenge is red - has that changed again ?

Forgot to add Martin Tyler to my list

Talking about the Digne challenge earlier and suggesting (nay stating) that it wasn’t a penalty because it was accidental. Must send him a link to the laws of the game as there’s no mention at all of accidental, except relating to handball. If you kick someone, even if you don’t know they are there, it’s a foul

Uh-huh
 :|
VAR stakes its claim early in the WC. Not sure why.

Ecuadorians taking the decision a little bit too calmly….things that make you go hmmm

Are they saying where the offside was? Because I can't see it even in a replay

Probably before kick-off if the “pay-off” rumours are anything to be believed.

Really had enough of these damn stupid systems. Players being offside by the width of a bootlace or because they happen bend their knee forward at just the wrong moment, it’s just totally ******* stupid and, imo, utterly destroys the game.

VAR out!

Player that heads the ball (so involved) is beyond the goalkeeper and only one defender between him and goal, so offside

What’s the issue ?

Doesn't look past the keeper to me......and he headed it to himself didn't he?

This is correct.

A player is in an offside position if any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponent’s half (excluding the halfway line) and any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent

Hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, shouldn’t be considered when determining an offside decision.

Think the only exceptions to this would be where an attacking player receives the ball direct from a goal kick or a throw in or a corner?

The goal kick one is interesting because I’d wager there’s a large proportion of fans, pundits, players and even officials don’t realise that one.
