Ryan Gauld scored twice for Sporting Lisbon last night.

He is the teenager they signed from Dundee Utd in the summer. He made his league debut for them last week.

Man of the match in his second game for them too. Re my post about Odegaard, this is what I mean about players going to 'second tier' sides and getting a chance to play games and develop.

Bundesliga kicks off again tomorrow night with a 1st v 2nd in Wolfsburg V Bayern. Possibly Bayern's toughest game of the season on current form, a win for Wolfsburg (yeah, right) will close the gap to a mere 8 points.

Dortmund start to try and repair their awful season away to 3rd place Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday evening.

lol @ Turan

Indeed, even better when he realises that he does need his boot and has to get it thrown back at him. LOL at the ref for then checking his shinpads too just to wind him up some more.

Bayern lose a "competitive" league game for the first time since October 2012 last night - all other defeats have come after they had been crowned champions. Lost 4-1 to Wolfsburg, doubling the amount of goals they conceded in the first half of the season.

Dortmund now bottom. This is getting ridiculous. What's happened to them?

no decent forwards left, loads of injuries, silly mistakes in defence. plus the bottom half of the table is really close, couple of wins and you are midtable. not that unrealistic that someone currently in the relegation zone ends up qualifying for the europa league

if the team in relegation play off place win today they go 12th, either 6 or 7 points off European qualification depending on who plays in the cup final

Real Madrid beat Sevilla 2-1 to go four points clear of Barca but Ramos and James went off injured and Marcelo picked up his fifth yellow of the season meaning he'll miss the Madrid derby at the weekend.

They were always going to struggle in that game with their injury list.

Makeshift defence. Surprised at 4-0 but not that they lost.

Bayern Munich really are the scourge of German football - the Bundesliga, for all the plaudits it receives, is wholly uncompetitive with the imbalance of resources that Bayern enjoy and must be a total bore for everyone else.

All of the defence were full internationals. And whatever your problems at the back, you'd expect the forward line they have to do something.

Marco Reus signs new contract at Dortmund.

a bit of a surprise really considering their current status and that it was widely reported that Real Madrid met his buyout clause and offered personal terms to him.
