Reading Barton's twitter he was desperate for a move to anywhere but QPR. Can't see his motivation levels being too high.
That's why he signed for just the 4 years then, m8, that's a great signing.

He knows that if no-one wants him now while he's in his 'prime' and on a free then no-one will ever want him so he's got himself a nice long contract. Fair play.

Tredder Joey Barton on a 4 year deal, that's quite a coup for a football team with a shed for a ground, Luke Young, Shoeshine, this £20 bet is candy from a baby.
Looks like some sound strengthening by your lot....reckon you have a good shout at staying up now.

no-one else was daft enough to offer him 80k a week. for a player that was claiming interest from top four clubs to go to a newly promoted club is more than surprising, but we all know money talks and money motivates. great deal for qpr now they have someone prepared to spend stupid money on stupid players. a few more along the lines of swp and luke young and you will be fine this season, but question their motives quite rightly.

more than his £52k newcastle wages. newcastle wanted him to take a wage reduction.
Should be nearer to 60k then, as most people on don't expect us to win many games

Stoke have approached Chelsea with a view to signing Romelu Lukaku on loan.
