Man Friday He's looked increasingly out of his depth.
He managed Everton in the Premiership, and yet he is "out of his depth"....is the difference of the top four compared to the top six that different?

If so...why appoint him in the first fikkin' place?

Was he set up for a fall?....a gamble so Fergie would be missed and never surpassed

Was he just the puppet that the ownership needed/wanted............they have had to kowtow to Sir Alex for so long now.

To anybody looking in, it is obvious that he has inherited players that have pretty much retired with Fergie....he has had to endure (and tow the party-line) contract negotiations on players (Rooney for one) who are not worth a fraction of their weekly pay-cheque.

The guy needs another twelve months for the better of the long-term future of this popular masses team.

Sack him? well yes, go ahead...Mourhino will be looking for a job soon....another hire and fire foreign journeyman manager? then maybe you can disenfranchise yourselves from the rest of the game, just like Chelsea have.

And all this stuff about Ferguson getting out when he knew the writing was on the wall.... how bloody disrespectful is that?

He'd built and rebuilt the team 3 or 4 times before, each time into PL winning teams, so when should he have retired? Should he have said, "I've just won the PL by 11 points, but hey, this team has some ageing players and I'm not sure they'll be as good next season, so I think I'd better retire now."

He was 71 FFS, in need of a hip operation, and deserved to choose his own time to retire without any recriminations whatsoever.

perhaps that is the problem..he seems to have retired in name only. his spectre haunts old trafford like the grim reaper.

If so...why appoint him in the first fikkin' place? Simples - 'cos they made a mistake. Fergie wanted someone to replace him who he liked.

Think Man U over performed last season as RVP actually stayed fit, and showed what a class player he can be and, IMO, carried the team. This year, normal service in terms of injury has resumed. They've also struggled in defence with Rio, Vidic and Evra all definitely the wrong side of 30

Rio Ferdinand ‏@rioferdy5 12m
We are in a day and age where players are forbidden from having emotions..and we wonder why the distance between players & fans is widening.

Various places now 'confirming' Moyes has gone with Giggs taking over until the summer and Butt as his assistant

Dimlows.

I wish people would stop harking back to 'this team won the premiership'. Yep, and the players are a year older (plus long term injuries) and the league was dogsh*t last season

As for the 'he's not proven himself/he's not big enough for ManU', Only in the UK does such arrogance abound. Bigger clubs than Manu appoint managers with less experience. That arrogance is really self defeating for the medium sized clubs in this country, let alone the bigger ones

Yep. They got by on Fergie's reputation last season.

I mean seriously? A squad that sees the likes of Rafael, Anderson, Cleverly, Young (old and injured) Ferdinand, (ancient) Giggs, (retired) Scholes et al getting plenty of games and that's supposed to be a good Utd squad? There are plenty of Utd teams that didn't win the PL that would have pissed all over last season's version.

Can't believe people are defending him on the basis that last year's champions aren't good. Really?! Are they really a 7th placed team? I think not.

He has failed spectacularly and if it were my dough I wouldn't give him another penny.

Yes the players have undoubtedly stepped off the pace in Fergie's absence but the fact they feel able to do that shows they have no respect for him. I think the board have given him as long as they felt they could. The fact they allowed him to get Mata showed they were prepared to give him time but how much time do you give when you know the manager is sh1t and out of his depth?!

He has failed and they are right to get rid.
