Have to say that having watched Middlesbrough twice this season Josh McEachran has looked an absolute class above anyone else at that level.

ITV.

I hear in some quarters (friends actually) that Wayne Rooney might get a hat-trick. 5/1 with Bet Victor

No Fixed Abode Jon Jo Shelvey

Totally agree, do we really have that little strength in depth or players coming through.

He's been brought in for the experience and for Hodgson to take a look at a player that might be challenging for a place in his squads in the future. He's a key player for the U21s in many respects but, and I hadn't realised this before, he's suspended for their game tonight and so was moved up to join in with the first team. Apparently he'll go back to the U21s for their game in Serbia on Tuesday.

As I said previously, I think this is a great move by Hodgson as it creates a bit more of a club like atmosphere with England and can only help to integrate the youngsters who might be involved in the future (I remember the same being done with Rio Ferdinand back when he was just 17/18).

Having said that, Bertrand and Lampard have both pulled out of tomorrows squad now, but will possibly be back involved on Tuesday. With Gerrard suspended for Fridays game perhaps Shelvey might now get involved.

I keep meaning to watch a bit of them to see how he looks but never remember.

I've read some very promising reports though. He's still very young of course, but ultimately he should be one of those competing with Wilshire for a place in the middle for England.

Hmmm. What would your starting line up be, if you were to put out your strongest side?

I would probably go:

Harte
Walker-Jagielka-Lescott-Cole
Carrick-Cleverley
Lennon-Rooney-Milner
Carroll

But, Roy will probably rest some of his strongest players to save them for Tuesday's match against Poland.

Great news, best captain since Bobby Moore.

Shelvey has come on a lot this season and is bang in form. He could be one for the future.

I agree England lack strength in depth, but how else are younger players going to get experience of the England set up if they aren't called up? Well done Hodgson!

Is that confirmed, rumoured or just your speculation?

I think it's a decent looking and attack minded side. I quite like it, although I'd still be temped to have Johnson or Lennon in there instead of Walcott.

With goals on offer I'd also rather see Defoe start, but he may well be rested ahead of Tuesdays game.

Sky Sources, so as good as confirmed.

Yeah, surprised by no Defoe, but makes sense if he's being rested.

Got the 3 points, added five goals to our goal difference, Oxlaide-Chamberlain got his first England goal, Rooney has started scoring again, Ukraine drew tonight, full house at Wembley, ...

Largely a boring game, but a lot of positives to take.
