Good signing, imo. No idea why they want Adebayor as well though.

if they get Adebayor, Santa Cruz will be gutted. £18m signing and will be 4th choice behind Tevez, Adebayor and Robinho

They dont - just another name thrown into the hat by Adebayors agent who is looking for a move away!

HuLOL

Owen - No. Fortune - No. Campbell - No. Daryl 'no goals in 27 games last season' Murphy - Yes.

Think they're really going to struggle next season. Wolves (and even Brum and Burnley) seem to be attracting better players.

Plus the fact that some players don't fancy getting changed on the pitch as apparently they are doing away with the changing rooms after last years success.

Is that why we have trouble signing players?

Like TBM says, I'm not sure they're actually after him, but if they are it maybe that Hughes is looking towards the fashionable 4-2-3-1 like so many others. If that's the case then Santa Cruz and Abebayor are competing as the 1 upfront with the likes of Tevez, Robinhio and SWP as the three attacking players supporting the lone striker.

i think Robinhio played out wide a bit last season for City and in a similar role at Madrid too.

Tevez is a great signing though.

Aye - the hardest thing with building a team full of big value signings (with egos to match) is keeping them all happy. Not sure Hugues will be able to do that.

I think the £170k a week makes it a little easier to take

Man City are going about their business terribly, the squad is too big, overloaded with strikers, still lacking any genuine quality at the back....just bidding for any big name that become available instead of creating a harmonious squad or buying players THEY ACTUALLY NEED, if i get better than 2/1 for Hughes to be first premier league manager to be sacked next season i'd bite your nuts off

They could of at least tried to sign David Villa.

+ Why spend 14m on Bellamy and then buy 3 more strikers.

City will off load all them apart from Bellamy wont they?

Hughes has been left with some deadwood in the squad from Sven that he will do well to get off the wage bill

As for why sign Bellamy, they needed some firepower and a few good winners in the changing room and Hughes knew what he would get with Bellamy. He is a gamble on fitness but still a good player

Have to admire Fergurson.

He could risk the money for short term gain.

If United don't win the title next season it's not the end of the world. Ferguson can re build in the long term, get the right players when he can and put faith in what's he got.

Will be interesting how the like of the De Silva's, Anderson, Tosic and Macheda come on, they've got another young Italian from Roma too who's meant to be the next Toti.

I won't mention De Laet.....
