I know it's said every time this sort of incident happens, and I know it hasn't materialised yet, but one day one of these nutballs has a knife, and this becomes much more than a viral mobile video and a banning order. Stewarding has to be better - and I don't know what the setup was at the City Ground, but I'd always advocate two or three rows of empty seats at the front of the away end.

I think an easy option for clubs would be for them to do away with the traditonal style of advertising hoarding. Instead you have a 3D one which is kind of like a cuboid shape that goes all the way around the pitch. Rather than having the traditional hoarding that can be bunny hopped over, you make it larger and much wider so that anyone wanting to get over would easily be noticed by the stewards or police. Obviously it wouldn't stop anyone getting over it completely but it would delay the process and give stewards time.

Cover the front 2 or 3 rows of seats with netting and employ stewards who are more suited to dealing with drunken louts on a saturday night

Especially considering how feeble security checks are

Leicester fans spent a bit of time smashing up pubs and places where families were eating before the game too.

I didn't think Leicester fans really had a contingent like that? Always thought of them as a bit of a mild-mannered family club like Reading

Saw a few bits on twitter that said they’ve got some new youth coming through as fans who are the ones causing this grief. Going to be like that at most clubs, I guess.

They probably got a bit over excited with it being a rare derby for them too.

Now the nice side of football for a bit of balance.
They also linked to the clubs twitter site and donations had hit £60k before kick off.
This on top of Palace subsidising the ‘Hangers coach travel to the game.
A touch or two of class there.

Jay Rodriguez equalises for Burnley at home to United. Before that goal he had scored once in 50 appearances, and 2,235 minutes of football.

And he still has roughly a goal every three games, for his career.

Haaland has a goal a game but was surprised to find he's missed about a third of games through injury

And they immediately spent £18m on Soyuncu who has, imo, proven to be better than Maguire (though has had some dodgy moments this season)

Derby with another win. Now only 4 points behind 4th with a much better goal difference than anyone else down there.

Quite staggering stuff from Rooney. They play Peterborough a week Saturday, with ourselves and Peterborough playing each other a few days earlier.

League 1 is fascinating right now. 2nd to 6th keep f*ucking up recently, and all failed to win again last night, with the teams just outside the play offs in better form than them and closing the gap meaning Plymouth in 8th are only 6 points off 3rd with games in hand

Rotherham looking good for promotion now (before their inevitable relegation from the Championship next season) taking advantage of everyone elses poor form to pull 9 points clear at the at the top. Wigan's games in hand mean they are in a strong position for automatic promotion too.

Sunderland bringing the lolz losing 3 in a row now after sacking their manager and teams behind having the games in hand to overtake them with wins. They play 3rd placed MK Dons a week saturday and then 2nd placed Wigan the saturday after that. Good luck with that Roy!
