According to the BTFC Twitter feed, their biggest achievement was winning a single corner and forcing one save from the Bishop's Cleeve 'keeper!

Four Of Clubs ... Brief update ; both tonight's games end with 3-1 home wins - think Yellamen could start to be recognised as potential contenders this term if they continue with this kind of form.

Four Of Clubs Results :
Saturday 8th Sept
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round
Pagham 0-0 Carshalton Athletic
Ended up here (just) and saw my first stalemate in over a year– nothing between the sides - although two Pyramid steps apart –

Royalist the CLUB cannot afford to pay the old wage budget that was clear to see. It was always being propped up by Mr Stott from the start which was utter madness and a folly and was against the ethos of the new club. Now the club is, hopefully, going to be making a tidy profit each week. Cannot imagine any other local club can say that?!

1. Kevin Stott said he would fund the club in Yr 1 with the aim that the 3G pitches would be built and generating income in time for Season 2. HIS money, HIS decision, HIS risk. He publicly said he was not looking to get that money back from the club.
2. He was completely unequivocal in saying he was NOT going to be a Sugar Daddy as the model does not work. So that funding was for Yr 1 only.
3. The Crown have been even slower regarding the lease than expected and work has not been able to start on the 3G pitches. It has recently become apparent that there was little likelihood that any such income would be seen during the current season.
4. Therefore in keeping with point No 1, Kevin Stott has withdrawn the player / management budget.
Not folly, madness or anything like it - just an eyes open personal commitment by the chairman (one he could afford and was prepared to make in establishing the new club).
He has honoured his commitment, and acted upon his oft expressed statement of limitation.
Maybe he was unwise to commit his money to fund Yr 1, maybe there should have been no playing budget at the start - alternative options and opinions are fine, but he does not deserve criticism for what he has done, which is to create a new club from the ashes of the old one despite a large number of obstacles to overcome at the outset.
Anyway, you coming down tonight Royalist?

Alan Partridge Don't think Didcot v Clevedon will be chosen for TV coverage.

Royalist Plus the fact he didn't cut wage bill at start of the season/end of last. There was NO need to bring in the quality of player/manager he did to get a team going at this level and we all know that! Credit has to go for man hours and effort in setting up new club but doesn't mean i have to agree with everything he does. It isn't wise to tow party line as time and time again its left people with egg on face! You yourself claimed players were not joining club for money...shall see when team sheet is out tonight!
