Royal Lady LOL @ this comment on the Liverpool Echo:
I may be in the minority, but I'm not convinced that he can reproduce the high level of performance that we need, on a continuous basis.
Don't forget, he did nothing at Reading and was surplus to requirements at Hoffenheim, who are still desperate to unload him.
He was punching above his weight at Swansea because he was playing for a contract.
How many times have we witnessed this scenario?
I think Brendan should shake his hand, wish him well for his career and move on.
LOLz.

Sad really. I used to believe the hype about Gylfi that he was a true young professional that cared more about developing himself as a player than the money etc..etc.... But if he is going to Spurs as now being reported then it really is just all about the money these days. Nothing more and nothing less.
I suppose we should not be surprised.

RobRoyal I wonder what Andrew1957 would have thought if Le Fondre had rejected Reading in favour of a move to Stockport.

Spurs - in Europe
Liverpool - in midtable
Swansea - second season syndrome?
Reading - relegation favourites.
Yeah, it could only be about money.

Or if Spurs hadn't come in for Gylfi and he'd come to us because we offered more than Liverpool.
I think andrew might be two different people. He seems to veer wildly between sensible and utter bitter nonsense in post content.

I don't believe what I'm reading, if he's asking for over 70k a week then why was it that he was on the verge of signing for Swansea only a month ago, theirs not a cat in hells chance of them paying him that amount.

Past performance is no guide to future performance.
Liverpool - anyone's guess under Rodgers. If he has learnt from his time at RFC he may be great - if not sacked by Chirstmas.
Spurs - If AVB becomes manager Spurs could very easily be mid table if his Chelsea form is repeated.
Swansea - very likely to be second season syndrome so to be fair ruled out as soon as BR left.
RFC - the best long term career choice by far. Come back for one season. Help lift RFC to comfortable survival. Be first choice and have the team built round you, score 15+ goals and secure move to Man Unt next summer or the summer after - which is your long term stated ambition.

Jano I still doubt very much that these "wild" wage demands are true. Just Liverpool trying to save some face because they've fluffed it. Tottenham's wage cap rules out him being on silly money if he does sign for them.

Reading4eva I wouldnt rule out him moving here... I really wouldnt. If Spurs still had Harry Redknapp, yes definately no chance. But AVB with a load of players heading for the exit door. They will struggle to finish above Everton (I believe our target club), whereas us I think we can compete in that mini league although no expectations will be imposed upon Sig.
