Winston Smith Toulouse have a centre forward who is banging the goals in called Martin Braithwaite. Despite having the most English of English names he is actually half Danish, half Guyanan.

That is all.

 he sounds like a butler

Who serves up the goals.

Yeah but his teammates put them on a plate for him.

TBF, Guyana was British until relatively recently. Quick check of the ol' wiki says his Dad is Guyanese.

Braithwaite might become one of my new favourite players abroad.

I wonder if French, Danish or Guyanese people are aware of how English the name is, and how posh it sounds, or whether it is just a foreign name with no real reference point associated with it.

Tim Wiese (6 caps for Germany, unused sub in 2010) has had an unusual career change.

As a related note, for ages, Stefan Postma had an interesting* autocomplete on google.

That is brilliant! He is scary looking.

There was a keeper who played for Burton Albion who had the same move and went to wrestling aswell but recently dropped out, cannot remember his name.

As if they would say it to his face. That's like calling Akimfenwa fat when he could bench press an entire football team

something special going on in French Ligue 1?

Nice have not lost a game so far and have only dropped 4 points. They have already beaten 2nd placed Monaco 4-0 and have Balotelli & Alassane Plea banging the goals in.

1. Nice 29
2. Monaco 23
3. PSG 23
4. Guingamp 20
5. Rennes 20

They have not won the league in 57 years.

I hope they Win or Monaco do and stop PSG.

Even though RB Leipzig are hated universally in Germany I think it's good that somebody is finally threatening bayern Munich.

It was nice when Athletico Madrid done and and I'm glad to see them and Sevilla up there with barca and real.

As the official foreign football thread I will mention that it is River Plate Vs Boca Juniors this weekend.

I am planning to follow the Argie league this season and i have read that Boca have one of the best teams right now that they have had in a long while. Tevez & Gago playing for them, with Dario Benedetto upfront who has 7 goals in 9 games and was linked last season with a move to the PL
