creative_username_1 If BR stays in charge do you reckon this thread could do another 100 pages by the end of the season?

I'll manage 5 on my own quoting all those who said he'd be gone at xmas.

Liverpool used to be the masters of this in the 80's - it was from them that i first learnt about "triangles"

Yeah, I was learning about colours and shapes and counting and shit when Liverpool last won something too.

February?

God no, I'm 34.

I really think it could be 50/50. If he hasn't got results by then. He's taken on the most
high profile/pressure role in the league at the moment.

Despite the assertions of NT_Royal, you'd never believe it, reading the LFC forums. There's even a thread going called 'New Liverpool' about building a 'new' club based on a different brand of football and promotion of players from the youth setup. There is a general realisation amongst Liverpool fans that the Europa League and losing to WBA is a medium-term thing, not a blip.

To be fair to the actual Liverpool fans (the ones who actually go to games) they were very patient with Rafa Benitez as well. The backing he got through the times when most people could see he was mis-managing things and leading them into this further slump was quite amazing (obviously his European successes meant he had a lot of credit though).

I can see Rodgers going the same way as Roy though if things don't work out well pretty soonish.

cmonurz I also find it strange that anyone would assert that a group of predominantly international players couldn't be expected to play a system that involves a lot of passing the ball and running around.

you've got to the crux of the argument - hardly any british players at all are capable of it full-stop

I disagree. I think they're capable, they're just not used to it or encouraged to enough.

Get them used to it and I think they can do it effectively. You only have to look at the Swansea side to see that. Last season only the right back, keeper and, once he'd joined them, Sigurdsson were non-British. The difference was that those players were encouraged and drilled to pass, pass and pass the ball.

Maybe so, I don't read Liverpool specific forums, I said on the forums I do go on, all the Liverpool fans have the attitude I have mentioned. If some fans are being more realistic then fair enough, it's about damn time. I think Rodgers could do well there, but I can't see him being given the time to do so.

Once were Biscuitmen there is no way the owners will get rid unless they are still in the relegation zone mid season.

Which they will be.

Such a categoric statement but you are too much of a coward to put your money where your mouth is.

Why do people do this!?

Wearing a football shirt? No problem with that.
Wearing a football shirt with a player's name on the back? I struggle to understand that one.
Wearing a full kit in public? No problem if you are 8 and under.
Why are these people allowed out unsupervised?

Because mental health is given no serious funding.
