Tony Le Mesmer Rooney and Torres. Not so long ago both were unplayable at times. Similarities in both, get injured, cant perform to very high expectations, weight on shoulders becomes too much, confidence plummits....

Torres' bird>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>any of Rooney's birds including Colleen.

...and somehow the desire to tough it out isn't quite what it might have been if they weren't already, in their early / mid 20s, multi millionaires.

Royal With Cheese Talk of £300,000 per week for Rooney if he moves to Citeh.

Would Man Utd sell him to Citeh though? Would be mighty unpopular with the fans. Still if they get big money for him and buy a top-class replacement in the January window then Fergie may not get too heavily criticised. Can't stand Rooney and would like to see him feck off abroad.

it would not matter a jot....all clubs have to stick to a uefa wage limit agreement or risk elimination or disqualification from euro competitions...manchester city are prime candidates for action..

It's the end of the world as Manchester United know it.

It's over, as predicted many months ago...

By the way, why the tears?
Fergie has done the same thing so many times.
The 'broken man' routine is tiresome...

Man Utd forums are one big LOLzfest right now. Apparently Rooney was never all that anyway, only 2 good seasons for them and he won't be that much of a loss.

Rooney's after trophies, Glazers have placed that club in loads of debt.
It's turned, other clubs have moved on.

More cash and more trophies is Rooney's bag.

Fergie knows it, and won't be able to provide it.
Not long now for Fergie either.

United have always shipped out big stars and they always come back and win things.

Stam
Van Nistelrooy
Beckham
Ronaldo

Lets not forget united are still unbeaten this season.

I'd have him at Chelsea though.

Whilst I agree, the team was arguably stronger overall than it is now when all of the above left the club. The likes of Giggs and Scholes were there throughout and are clearly not going to be around for much longer which will be worrying to Aggers and co.

agreed. I don't see the sudden downfall of Utd coming that much of the media is predicting. Can see City & Chelsea being top dogs for a while in the years to come but Utd won't be far behind.

All those previous big names to leave were under Fergie's orders though (apart from Rondaldo who they at least made stay for an extra season or two and had the excuse that being Portuguese his dream move was to Real Madrid).

This is the first time I can remember that they've had a player at or approaching his peak want to leave. The fact he wants to leave for money/ambition just shows that they're not the biggest bully in the playground anymore.

Fergie, and the hoards of 'plastic fans', really won't like that.

Maybe Bale will force a move away from Spurs because he doesn't like his own fans booing him

Just seen Fergie's press interview, going on about seeing a cow in a field that you think is better than your cow. Bizarre.

Reminiscent of a much better United forward from days gone by...
