Elmer ParkElmer Park If Cardiff had had a player sent off in the game at The Madstad last night we would have seen a new record for the fastest overturning of a red card by the Welsh FA.
I shouldn't have joked about this. Swansea have appealed to the Welsh FA.

"I wasn't swearing at the ref or anyone else," protested Todd afterwards. "Anyone else would have done the same - he nearly blew my ear off." Manager Mark Heard was supportive. "Players should be sent off for swearing at the ref or a player," he added after his team won the game 11-2. "But referees are supposed to use a bit of common sense."

Swansea lost their appeal. Their fans seem to think the Welsh FA's astonishing leniency is only shown in favour of Cardiff though they can hardly claim an injustice this time. One or two whispers that Swansea expected to lose the appeal but Welsh FA hearings are usually at least a week after the offence so they were hoping the delay would at least enable Taylor to play in tonight's game.
Hopefully this is the last incident where this anomaly is an issue as it seems the jurisdiction for all disciplinary matters may be with the English FA only from next season.
