Stooper

Worthy of a requote on this page. First time it touched the grass from start of move is when it was in the back of the net!

Ladders has always extreme touch for a big lad.

That is amazing, and if that was Messi, it would still be being repeated on Sky.

All of Stoke's goals are the same.

to even have the nerve to shoot from there, at that angle and that far out, makes this goal all the more amazing.

He doesn't even seem to look at the goal until after he's hit it. That is a hell of a goal.

The flick-up to set it up was peachy enough, without the shot that followed

Deadlock Anyone know how that compares to Robin Friday's famous goal?

Friday volleyed it up, walked on his hands, did the hokey cokey then volleyed it in from utside the Spread Eagle. 140,000 fans in Elm Park roared as the ref claimed it was better than his wedding night while running around with his shirt off. Anyone who had even a passing interest in football at the time was definitely there

fair enough on the sarcasm, but I was there, behind the goal. Have current nobbers as witnesses

tbh Friday's was not as good, more central to the goal and not as far out. Fourth division goalie too. The swivel and shot were similar though.

Crouch's goal must rank up there for this season's goal.

Unbelievable goal from Crouch, got to be GOTS unless i've forgotten something incredible.

Why he even shot from there I do not know, stunning finish.

As has been pointed out already I think, if this had been scored by one of football's illuminati, or someone considerably more fashionable than Peter Crouch (preferably, someone not English), this would be already be talked about as one of the greatest goals of all time. If it were Messi or similar, Sepp Blatter would be tweeting about it in those terms already

What a stupendous effort.

Pound for pound, the English game has always produced more goals in the 'spectacular' category than anywhere else, yet there are still a lot of people who have this reverence for the skill and panache of the continental and South American games.
