Silver Fox

southbank1871 This is the gift that keeps on giving, loving the attack on Lineker! I know from a friend who used to work at the NOTW that Lineker is definitely not squeaky clean and used to cheat on his (now) ex-wife on a regular basis

Thats common knowledge though!

'zackly, didn't he cheat on his ex while she was very seriously ill?

What better time is there?

Pot calling kettles and all that. Saint Alan of Shearer was quite capable of regularly swinging his elbows into opponents faces.

But being the saintly (no pun) figure that he once was, it was largely blind-eyed by the officials

Even if Gary and Alan have been clubbing seals and eating babies it shouldn't detract from the fact that Barton is a cuntispiece of the worst kind

Differences being, he didn't then brag about it afterwards

The FA "have punished Barton with 2 violent conduct offences".

9 games at least then.

QPR should throw him out.

Edit: the offences are after his sending off, the kick at Aguero and the butt at Kompany. Add four games for the red card, and this could be a huge ban.

I'd guess at 12 - 15 games meaning he's going to miss about a third of the season.

FTR, David Prutton got 10 games for his red card which included the charges of failing to leave the field of play promptly after a red card and the use of threatening words and/or behaviour towards a match official.

Barton's is worse. I think, of Ian's prediction, the higher end is more realistic.

Reckon it will be around 7-8 games in total.

15 would be stupidly over the top. While he was obviously stupid, If the opposition players didn't roll around on the floor and the rest crowd around having a drama it wouldn't look like such a big deal

I've already posted elsewhere why it'll be 15 games.

As for the oppo players rolling around - which one exactly.

Tevez went down and stayed down - no rolling
Aguero went down and stayed down - no rolling
..... and I'm surprised even Joey had the balls to take on Kompany
