Bring Back The SB Chelsea don't even fill their ground now so why move to a much bigger one?

Empty seats in the Champions League is unforgivable.

We're pretty much right at the top of % filled at home games. :| 98.6%

Always reduced capacity for CL games dues to CL restrictions.

Reading however only filled theirs by 79.4% despite winning the title.

Dare to Dr£am  That is terrible.

If Chelsea do get the Battersea site, the ground will be next to the power station. The plans for the power stations are shops and cafe's etc...

Park Avenue, the old home of Bradford Park Avenue. Wonderful three-gable main stand - another Archibald Leitch creation - and the Doll's House pavilion in the corner.

Snitching, meanwhile, is unforgivable.

Anyway, somebody mentioned "epic floodlights". Do I remember correctly that some kids tried to climb the floodlights in the corner between the Southbank and the Tilehurst End at Elm Park? How high up did they get???

Prettiest place I've ever watched football is Shimizu S-Pulse's Nihondaira Stadium in Japan. Clear views of Mt Fuji from the stands:

Are there any other stadia within sight of iconic global landmarks?

Always loved the old terrace at Burnley

Leek's town is a tidy little bit of kit, and the factory next door looks immense under the floodlights

Love Odsal, always a great away day (especially as the whole terrace is uncovered)

and Vale Park, definitely suffered from redevlopment

Jerry St Clair Hampden Park is now a shadow of it's former self.....the floodlights alone are epic.

How can that be copyright 2011?

Terminal Boardom Rather than hijacking threads like the WoLOLves one, I propose that any discussions regarding stadia takes place here. There is a wonderful history associated with football grounds throughout the country. For example, who knew that Stamford Bridge existed as a sports ground long before Chelsea FC was born and that Fulham were asked to make use of the ground?

A lot of grounds were designed and built by Archibald Leitch. Some were immensely grand, for example, the main stand at Ibrox. Yet some were much lower key. Who knew that the main stand at The Den was also one of Leitch's designs?

You mentioned Stamford Bridge-there used to be a greyhound track around the pitch (as they also did at Wembley)meaning that the fans were a long way from the action and a very subdude atmosphere.
I can understand why the potential teams to play at the new Olympic stadium are a bit reticent about having the running track there as well.
