TheMaraudingDog A very good thread on the MK Dons forum that I had a gander of yesterday. 'The lies of AFC Wimbledon'.

AFCW really is a club for self important dicks.

Weren't they the prototype for FC United of Manchester?

FTR Dirk, I've not heard of any Wimbledon fans that now support MK Dons, although I'm sure there are a few.

I heard it was the fans groups that were refusing to go as opposed to the club itself refusing to send fans.

Compo's right though, better to get this first meeting out the way. It was always going to happen at some point.

Link to that Lies of AFCW thread please? Would be interested to see it.

There's asmall number - I think the guy who edits the programme (unpaid, so not an employee) even moved to MK and changed jobs. Those who did move their support to MK are massively entrenched and have a real siege mentality.

Gut-wrenching stuff for true Wimbledon fans

Almost like having your long-term girlfriend forcibly removed from you and then having to go out for dinner with her and her new fella

Oh dear. Interesting to get an insight into the MK mindset but they are the true pariahs of football. No one likes them, and they care!

Judging by the comments on that thread, they sound like utter helmets.

I suspect of lot of them are new fans of MK Dons who also support Arsenal, Tottenham or Man Utd and are just trying to cre8 a rivalry and give themselves an identity.

The biggest belmonts are the AFC Kingston fans while genuinely believe that they are Wimbledon FC. That club moved to MK and the Judas twats set up in their own.

If its on TV, it will most likely be Sunday lunchtime or one of the evenings.

I think it will be kept isolated from other large fixtures.

The daft blonde know-nothing woman on Sky offered the same take as you in rather more polite language when giving the result last night.

You're not quite alone in your view but you're in bad company there.

If Wimbledon fans are now AFC Kingston fans then why have the attendance dropped so much?

I'll tell you why, its because the majority have remained loyal and now travel to MK to watch their side.

There's a whole lot of lies though and a big cover up from the Judas Gang at Kingston.

That's a pretty poor fishing trip even by TMD's standards. My understanding of the AFCW supporters is that they want to do nothing that gives TMD, sorry, MKD any sort of credibility. Sadly, the media will blow this game out of all proportions and make stuff up purely to sensationalise the whole thing.

TMD just has a chip on his shoulder due to AFCW getting back in the league whilst FCUM continue to stagnate in the lower leagues. Although I fully expect him to reply telling me how FCUM is more about the atmosphere etc surrounding a match than success on the pitch.

Indeed, AFCW average last year was 3780. Wimbledon struggled to break the 4000 barrier in the Prem

According to Wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wimbledon_F.C.#Supporters

With relegation, attendances dropped catastrophically to an average of only 7,897 during 2000–01. Wimbledon averaged 6,961 during the final season before the club's relocation to Milton Keynes was confirmed.

So it's hardly an unusual drop considering they're currently two divisions below this.
