Anfield Kopite Why Liverpool C.U. ? Its every team in the league that united are clear of.

Was just thinking of traditional rivalry. Used to be the other way round.

Arsenal used to be rivals to United when they were competing. City only have Utd as 'rivals'

Our traditional rivals are Everton. Been competing against them regularly for 120 years.

Everton haven't really been competing for titles since the 80's

Liverpool have fans worldwide due to our success in the 70s and 80s. But the scouse Liverpool fan still gets more nervous before a match with Everton than United. Thats because if we lose to Everton we have to face their fans. Most familys are split between red and blue on Mersyside. Id rather beat them in a run of the mill league game than United.

By and large neither have Liverpool really, certainly not much since the Superskysoccerbollox revolution.

I nearly included this in my reply. Won it in 91. A couple of seconds since. Other than that between 3rd and 8th. Its probably why i see Everton as our rivals more than United.

Yes, you have to be punching someone for them to be a rival.

tbf Liverpool were part of the Top 4 for good long while and have finished above Utd on occasion since the 80's

Liverpool and Everton have a quite bizzare love/hate relationship. Like i said in an earlier post, most families are split red and blue. My Dad was a blue. Most Everton fans say they hate us. But in other ways they are very friendly. A few times we have played them at Wembley and lots of coaches and mini buses were mixed. When it comes to Hillsborough they are also very respectful because most knew someone badly affected. But once a derby match starts the atmosphere can be electric. Then its a pint in the pub with us to discuss/argue about how the game went. Its a big rivalry, but as Ian Royal pointed out, it doesnt have to mean hatred. Retro_Royal obviously doesnt understand this. But then again, he sounds about 10 and thinks causing trouble is were it is at. Bellend.

And it's not like you get at some other rivals, where it's a more a case of people trying to show they're a "better supporter" than others by hating the Scousers/Mancs/Yids/Scummers/Mackems/whatever more than those others.

Correct A.L. i think its a more mature rivalry. I am sick with nerves when we play Everton. But if they beat us i will text my blue mates 'Congrats, mines a pint of lager please' just before the final whistle. When i enter the pub 15 minutes later they are smiling from ear to ear but there will deffo be a cold pint with my name on waiting.

Stop being a sarcastic bellend and grow up. It is brilliant as it happens. A lot better than your neanderthal attitude. Posting police reports about hooly behaviour of United fans and thinking it impresses people. Tintin is 12

Back to Bale (people like retro are so concerned about Liverpool that they try to sabotage other topics)-A very exciting player but still a long way behind Messi and Ronaldo.
His general play needs to improve before he can be compared to those 2 special players.
Last night he did very little other than score the two goals, the first was a bit routine but the second was nearly as good as that left back scored against Spurs the other day in the Europa League. What made last night's goal special was that it won the game for Spurs and was the type to take your breath away.
One additional good thing is that Bale seems to have stopped diving.
