Brentford 1-1 Reading - I was in Knutsford service station having gone on holiday to Scotland assuming we would have already been promoted by then

Reading 3-1 Liverpool - was on a plane to Dubai for work

Reading 2-1 Wolves (97) - couldn't be arsed.

We also gave up on our plans on going over to Germany in 2001 for Englands World Cup qualifier when we all agreed that 'ah f**k it, we will probably lose anyway'......doh

Somehow I forgot to mention that I also missed the Wembley PO final as i was living in tenerife at the time, probably because it doesn't seem so important now

I really can't remember missing any massive games.

Trying to think of any really classic Reading games in the last few years I've missed.

Reading Vs Preston 3-0 away springs to mind.

Who missed the 3-2 Vs Palace the season we got promoted? Still see that as the best ever football game I've watched.

In a lime green Fiat Panda driving through France ...

Brentford 1-1 Reading was in the Elm Tree in Oxford, Reading 1-1 United (League) was in a rough as pub in Edinburgh and I had a ticket, Reading 3-1 Liverpool was in the Chester Arms.

Last 5 minutes of Leicester game was being hugged by Lux.

Turned down free tickets to see Spurs Vs Liverpool in order to go to a Scouts day out in Bristol, game turned out to be 3-3 and Steve McManaman scored an overhead kick. Another was turning down free hospitality to see Man Utd Vs Spurs, United won 1-0 IIRC and my family met Fabien Barthez.

Best Reading game I missed was probably Reading 4-2 Wolves just after FSB left.

Reading 6 - West Ham 0. Was on a plane to the US going to a sales conference. Even worse when I got to the hotel the US staff had booked a room with a giant screen and a had an open bar tab as they were watching some college basketball game. They had seen the Reading game earlier and all wanted to tell me about it.

I still want to see a video of Arsenal winning 2-0 at Anfield to win the title back in '89. All i've ever seen is the last couple of minutes when Michael Thomas scored.

As for Ding, i wish i was there when Archie struck against Wolves.

can't think of a big Reading match that i've missed. One i regret not going to though was QPR away in the 1st rnd of the Simod. Went to the other 5.

Was also assured of a ticket for the Euro 96 semi v Germany but was let down on the day of the game

If we can deviate into big games we happen to have not seen then I will add the 94 world cup final, 98 world cup final, 2002 world cup final and I also only flicked over and caught bits of the 2006 world cup final. In fact I have never even seen the goals / highlights from most of these, I don't even know who scored when France won.
