Silver Fox Disappointed for Barnsely as they looked the better side and have done more than any other team to liven up this year's cup. How the big fella missed I really don't know.

As for the PL weekend, United's defence looked really quite weak with Vidic out and if Rio is also going to miss some action they could be really up against it. Having said that, I really really hope they beat Chelsea next week

Friday 4th, James Lawton 'Sports Writer of the Year' (who gives out these awards?) holds forth on the depth of Utd's squad. Sunday 6th, Utd minus Vidic look all over the place at the back

Whitleys finest, Tommy Soares, scores for Palace as they go into the break 2 up away to Stoke.

many thanks for loaning us that waddock chap mr absalom...i know the "real hoops" have moved on..but a good few of us that follow the garrison boys are grateful that when the tablecloth was shaken the crumbs settled at the rec...tomorrow night could be the big one if torquay drop points.....a result for the 'shots would mean elevation to the league structure..hey,it's a reading forum, and i am out of order in many ways...but the beautiful game lives as long as scope is allowed for the fairy tales.....

QPR ledge, great player and a leading light in the behind the scenes set up, was thrust into first team management to early and didn't cut it but a nice bloke and glad to see he got a chance lower down the leagues, shame he can't man manage some of the players.

James Lawton writes for the Independent & really gets up my nose. With each article he writes, regardless of the subject, he will always mention Sir Alf Ramsay and/or at least one of the members of the 1966 World Cup winning squad & compare them to current managers/players - even if he's not writing about football. Drives me mad.
