I wonder if old red nose will be ringing Steve Bruce this week?

What do you think they may be talking about?

Absolute gem from a Chelsea fan on 606:

'Man Utd and Chelsea will both win next weekend, Man Utd will take the title on a technicality. As a Chelsea fan, it's a shared title.'

 Yes mate, a shared title. Just like if Reading and Fulham win, it's a technical relegation for us.

AF1 The vast majority of Man Utd fans stayed in the ground today to cheer the players round the pitch...

As they do at the last home game of every season, not sure if it was worthy of a mention to be honest.

On small things are big prizes decided….

Here’s something interesting (well, not very, but it shows how the odd stupid result, or late goal, can have a massive effect on a season). Liverpool will likely finish 11 points behind the league winners this season. But if they had secured home wins over Wigan and Birmingham, and not conceded late equalisers at home to Arsenal and Chelsea, they would be starting the last game of the season with a mathematical chance of winning the title. All ‘what ifs’ of course, but all very feasible too.

Thaumagurist* I watched the end of the Arsenal game before they switched it to the Stoke v Leicester game. Why the f*ck were Arsenal players celebrating? They've won exactly f**k all.

But every single claub can play that game after virtually every single match. If we'd drawn at home with Bolton and Fulham (nbot even betaen them - just not lost to them!) we'd definitely be abovethe virtually-relegated Fulham and only needing a point at Derby to be mathematically safe.

And if Shane Long hadn't been a prat at Birmingham the same would apply - just a draw needed.

I know, and the point Kes has spectacularly missed is that I am saying those things do make a difference, just highlighting how an apparently large gap might look very different had some completely feasible things occurred. The ability of Chelsea to fight and get that draw at Anfield, and Liverpool’s dismal few weeks at home when they couldn’t buy a win - that’s what decides the title.

Agree though Dirk, we could look at our results and say the same. And that’s when I start feeling a little bit sick. Had Hunt connected with that cross we might not be in the predicament we are now in.

The point you are making is rubbish though.

its like me saying, what if that goal that never was in the CL semi final in 2005 between Liverpool and Chelsea wasn't given. Rafa would be out of a job by now.

What if Hesky hadn't scored in injury time against Chelsea a few weeks back.

All ifs and buts.

Chelsea would have been down to 10 men and Liverpool would have been awarded a pen.

LOL @ Chelsea fans moaning about that goal.

nearly as bad a decision as that Spurs goal at Old trafford when Carroll scooped it out and it was about 5 yards over the line.

They won a nice little win bonus and not to mention some more money for finishing in a champions league spot. For the fans its all about trophies but for a player he looks at the money - every goal scored, every clean sheet, every assist, every win etc etc....take a look at the keeper and defenders next time a team lets in a goal despite being 4 or 5-0 up, they still get angry cos its cost them a bonus!

It's not rubbish, simply point out, as you have re Heskey's goal, how a 9-month, 38-game season is actually determined by a few coin-flips, which is what makes it so enthralling. Calm down Harold, I wasn't insulting Chelsea.
