TheMaraudingDog I somehow doubt that we'll face the same humiliation on our own turf as what City got last night.

losing a semi to your local neighbours wont be humiliating? at least your emotionally prepared for failure.

I think his "semi" is thinking more along the lines of events off the pitch anyway. On both counts I don't think it will not be a night for the faint hearted!

Don't think a 1 goal lead is enough for City, Utd will go through in the 2nd leg.

LOL @ 'Fergie Fergie sign him up'

p.s Worst 'mind games' ever from Gary Neville pre match, what on earth was he thinking???? Fergie must have wanted to kick him all the way out of Manchester back to Salford after that.

Just remembered another incident. Anyone remember a cigarette lighter getting thrown at Evra? Well, prior to that, I think Evra provoked it by cupping his balls at the crowd....and he complained about the lighter.

I don't think there's any danger of anyone losing a semi after reading aggers' reports, incredible, amazing and dare I say it sexy scenes

TheMaraudingDog City were humiliated by having THEIR city and THEIR pubs taken over and ranpaged .

Mary D's is bang opposite the ground and United hadn't made it far that too the ground by this point.

By all accounts though two coach loads of reds from Failsworth did land at Mary D's before KO and offered City out who stayed in the pub.

Can’t imagine 80 City walking up to The Trafford and if they did they would get smashed.

I'd like to see a fight between 400 manc born united fans and 400 manc born city fans. Not of these glory hunting hooligans who travel to manchester from other parts of the country for an off with the united firm, just regular local lads having a tear up. That would be fair ground.

Lol@The Dog believing that what happens OFF the pitch is important when ON the pitch Man Utd (ex-champions)had one shot on goal in the whole first half and that from 2 yards.
Mind you Fergie is obviously taking this minor trophy very seriously having not played Obertan and all those other future stars whereas City started the 19 year-old Belgian for only the second time.

Actually I hope Man Utd go through and Wembley can provide them with their cup final.

So in summary, a load of united fans were late getting to the game.

Wow. Intense.

Must have been just like being back in the 70s....

coming to terms with the fact that the red side of the city is in footballing freefall, whilst the blue half is regenerating.

He does talk sense though.

Gary Neville (Manchester United) On Ibrox

"This was the loudest atmosphere that I have known, compared to any English ground away from home.

"There have been certain nights at Old Trafford in European games - the ones against Juventus comes to mind - when the atmosphere was incredible.

"But this was definitely up there with the best. It was fantastic.

"When we came out at the start I was looking around me and I saw people in the directors’ box jumping up singing and I was wondering what was happening. It is not usually like that.

"The crowd beating us was never going to happen - but thank goodness they didn’t score."
