Or maybe some consider themselves British rather than English, especially after the Olympics..

cmonurz Probably no more reason than some of us have a favourite German or Italian team, or just other teams we follow.

Yeah but picking one that hates the English/British?!

Choose Queen of the South or someone

That's twice you've mentioned us and Celtic as if we have some mong love in, that's Liverpool m8.

And as for Argentina, that's just to wind up little englanders from West Ham, Birmingham and Leeds. It works a treat.

Jesus!

Said out loud when I was watching it that the challenge looked relatively innocuous, just a late bump on the leg.

Ouch.

Celtic through, Chelsea out.

Best European night for ages.

Bar the "Celtic through" part

No idea why so many Englishmen like Celtic so much :?

I think the sentiment is more that it's funny to see a team full of players too shit for the English Prem, journeymen Greeks and misfit Africans who can't get a club anywhere else progressing to the knockout stages of a competition whilst the classiest club in Europe - and holders - couldn't manage to do it as well.

Funnier still that it was a dive by Samaras.

Juve went for the win, Shakhtar turned up expecting them to play out a draw, Chelsea murked!

Going to be some very tasty games in the last 16.
