Ian Royal
It must be hard to be used for commentating on most games. There's not a lot of room for variation in how you describe what happens on a football pitch.

Um, nope. Not at all.

I can't listen to Talksport commentary because of Matterface advertising a bookies every five minutes and doing it like it's part of the commentary

plus, he stole Natalie Sawyer from me

That and his ridiculously fake emotional wobble voiced high pitched scream when a goal is scored.

It's not how he does it on TV so it's probably instructions from the TalkSport bosscunts but it does my head in.

After Andy Townsend and Matt Smith's departure, Adrian Chiles has had his contract with ITV terminated with immediate effect. The BBC's Mark Pougatch will replace him from February.

Shame that from next season ITV will have virtually no live football whatsoever. Hope Pougatch continues on FiveLive. He's the most complete sports presenter on the station.

Had the displeasure of Danny Kelly on Talksport on the drive home last night, insisted on shouting appalling 'jokes' over much of what his co-presenters had to say.

At least he's got something to say unlike the rest of that appalling bunch.

I thought Robbie Fowler was half decent and Jermaine Jenas was excellent on MOTD last night.

Thing with Chiles is that he always came across as very good on the business programmes like Working Lunch and The Apprentice and he was ok on MOTD2. Very much a cult presenter rather than a light entertainemtn heavyweight though. Another career ruined by ITV. Clearly a career move dictated by money and not surprised it didn't work out.

Good cardigan skills from Jenas as well, which made me wonder again why Sky have spent so much on Thierry Henry.

Yeah, Chiles was ok when he was buffooning his way through brief segments between highlights. When he has to actually carry a full show and talk about a single game in ten to fifteen minute stretches it just gets embarrassing.

Pretty sure i've seen him on MOTD2 or The Football League Show. He's alright as a pundit.
