Ian Royal
Big Ern
leicsRoyal Fantastic decision to get rid of Adkins.

I think Adkins had enough about him to keep Saints up. The new guy may have but hopefully not.

The new guy can't even speak English and has no experience of this league.

I think Southampton will capitulate now and have given us a chance

WTF has speaking English got to do with being a good manager! Have someone reliable who can translate and it's a minor stumbling block at most.

Royal Rother Ranieri, Santini, Dalglish.

Ferguson,Dalglish (first time around) Strachan at Saints,Lambert at Norwich,'Arry at Spurs all did quite well without speaking English.

Watching Saints last night they looked nothing like a relegation side.
Ramires does look top class and if they keep him and Lambert fit with Lallana to return and Shaw not getting transferred they look better than Fulham and all the others in and around the relegation area.
If the new centre-back is any good I would expect them to end up nearer mid-table than relegation.
Shame.

They still played like an adkins side, it's too soon for the new manager to have had a noticeable effect on the side.

It will tell over the next few weeks if this decisions is going to leave them in trouble.

I wasn't even thinking of the manager,my comments were about the players' performance.
Thank goodness Saints fans didn't do a Chelsea over a sacked manager and just got on with supporting their team, much in the same way as they have accepted their best players being sold year after year.

All well and good, but the obvious point is that if sacking saints is a mistake the effect of that decision won't be seen for a few weeks. They didn't look like a relegation side last week, ergo they still won't this week.

And when they bring in a couple of decent Spanish players (which Adkins probably would not have done) they could well look even less like a relegation side.

You don't know what Adkins would have done
You don't know that the new guy is going to actually get any decent spanish players
You don't know if they'll work out etc...

Appreciate that you've used the word 'could'

Nigel Adkins has an uncanny habit of alienating many of his peers. I know for a fact that Brian doesn't like him one bit after a fairly unsavoury incident after the 1-1 draw last season.

Nigel Adkins has a habit of being a physio who became a very successful manager within a small space of time.

Whether Brian likes him or not, matters not

Cortese is a prick, no good for the long term British game...and I sincerely hope, that we put him to the sword

Spacey
Royal Rother
Ian Royal I genuinely don't understand all the hate for Adkins and the descriptions of smugness. I can only assume it's from people who can't tell the difference between smugness and things like intelligence, competence and being articulate.

My thoughts entirely!

You would say that, Mr. "I'm a conehead because of my massive brain" Rother.

Worrying that they beat Man City today without Shaw and Ramires.
I have a feeling they will end up in mid-table.

Oi!

But yes, Arse Rother is a bit of a cúntishly big brained fool of absolutely no redeemable functionality. All that brain and he's a bit of a thick twat.

The may have played well but they were really lucky with the goals. A fumble from Hart and an own goal, when did we get such presents? The City goal against us in the last minute was a a definite foul, Saints get two gifted goals

Come off it, they had a defo penalty turned down right on half time. They looked comfortable against the Champions, were a constant threat and so deserved their bit of luck.

So is it now QPR gone, Saints pulling clear, 2 down from us, Villa and Wigan?

Don't rule out one of Norwich, Fulham, Sunderland or West Ham getting dragged into it.
