What's the situ with waterlooville? They had a great little ground behind industrial units but then merged with Havant. That arrangement still in place or did they reform?

The concept of 2-3000 PFC thugs running ramapge across non league circles leaves me cold. If you think they are arrogant now, just imagine how completely intolerable they will be when they win their first promotion. It would be simply horrific.

And if they shared with H&W, how long would it be before they were engufed and became tenants ala Kingstonian?

Since they merged with Havant they have a nice little ground down the road from my old flat in West Leigh, Havant. Can't see it being suitable for any reincarnation of Portsmouth. I believe it can hold around 5,000 fans at the moment. But why should they give it up for them?

Ideal It's really unfair that we have to play Portsmouth when they might go bust a few days later, it's just really unfair.

Nah,

I actually hope they win this game - then have their record expunged.

I'm imagining the incredulity of a purple faced Allardyce on Sky Sports News - it would definately make my day.

a ground-share wouldn't really be giving it up. pompey will fill it every week. h&W will benefit from a tenancy fee, takings from food and drink sold etc. valuable income to aid h&w's ambitions to climb the leagues. bournemouth is also being mooted this morning.

As above the thought of 1,000's of Portsmouth fans running riot every other week doesn't sound good. Especially as my local is opposite Havant's ground

We need a poll on the number of fans Pompey will take to away games in the 7th tier.

My guess would be considerably less than 1,000.

Wimb Could well all be BS. Just pointing out that he wasn't going totally mental throwing by saying £4k average on one hand then saying 4 good players for £38k.

I'd've had no probs if he'd said

Average player is 4K. You c'n get a VVG player under 10K, could get 4 for 38K

But wot was writ was odd

PFC in non league football would be akin to Wolves' first 4th division game at Scarborough in 1986. They won't be like AFC Wimbledon, Aldershot Town or any other reformed club. It will be like Armageddon wherever they go. Small towns and grounds completely trashed by the knuckle draggers.

My answer to Franchise would be that they would fill each ground. Bear in mind that travelling distances would be far less than where they are now.

Aldershot regularly took over 2000 to each away game following their demise.

I remember refereeing a game for them against Chalfont St Peter I believe where the kick off was delayed by 40 minutes because the old lady who took the gate money from a chair and table at he back of the ground could not cope with the hundreds coming through.

Portsmouth would take thousands around non league circuit.

Snowball You have to admit there would be a delicious bit of Karma if Pompey go tits-up and West Ham miss automatic.

West Ham cheated to stay up (officially) and Pompey didn't try against them and got us relegated in the final game.

So between them they cost us a MINIMUM of 40 Million if we'd only lasted one more season.

Of course we might well have consolidated season three and become a good mid-table side and been 200 Million better off

So, frankly, Pompey crashing and taking down West Ham, allowing us in and then up, is just PERFECT.

Couldn't agree more.

In fact, no one has lost more than Sheffield United following the outrageous decision not to relegate West Ham following their blatant flouting of the transfer rules. Surely the time to finally dispose of this nasty little club's unofficial World Cup Veto is long overdue

As for Portsmouth (and whilst I have genuine sympathy for the fans despite the fact they rarely treat us with anything but contempt :| ) if they survive this latest round of massive debts, every club in the country will know the governing bodies are toothless in this respect, bar the docking of a few points, and can largely be ignored as and when it suits.

If there's any justice remaining in English football, Portsmouth and it's annoying bell should be shoved into the Solent long before the seasons end so the final table, at long last, will be a fair reflection of those who played by the rules.

I have sympathy for Sheffield United obviously but they still had it in their hands on the final day of that season and bottled it at home to Wigan.

They did get screwed by the Tevez affair but were given about £20m in compo PLUS the parachute payments for going down. They got into bother because Robson splashed money on an endless stream of useless players and his successors continued the trend, including massive amounts spent on loan players.

But none of that changes the fact that any fair decision would have involved West Ham being one of the relegated clubs. I carry no torch for the blades but they have never recovered from a relegation that shouldn't have happened despite the compensation.

No they were pretty good to be fair and never witnessed any trouble. Acted under a community club of sorts. What you do find and similar to how I found AFC Wimbedon is the "big time charlies" attitude from supporters and certainly club officials in that they think they have a devine right to climb back through the leagues. Also in boardroom afterwards they would also go on about how they help other clubs with increased gate receipts.

When I lived in Harrow I went to see Aldershot play Harrow Borough. Couldn't help but be impressed by the turnout of maybe 1800 for a midweek away game. No trouble at all. Just a big bunch of good natured fans enjoying their football. I can't see Portsmouth's knuckledraggers "kicking off" at non-league grounds.
