Man Friday World-beaters under Terry. Egg-beaters under Gerrard. Conclusion: We are better under Terry. Hardly straw-grasping!

Well, at the end of the day that's my opinion. Of course we'll never know whether it is a (significant) factor in England's demise or not because as your statistical comment above implies there's too many variables and we can't experiment to harden the proof.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe Gutted Rooney crumbled to pressure and apologised. He's voiced his opinion just as the fans did. Rightly or wrongly booing does more damage, players do not react to that sort of reaction in a positive way. When have u ever heard someway say the booing motivated us.

Lol at the press taking digs over Fabio's tough regime, they have been bashing off to it for a year. Remember we lost the last World Cup cause of the wags circus and the players were too friendly with Sven. Well the press have got the exact manager th wanted and now they slaughter him for it.

I almost cried with laughter with all the txts in saying how great the JT press confrence was. Apparently this guy was scum just months ago, people txting in skysports saying give him the arm band back.

How can u turn on a manager after 2 games? Fabio will sort it out.

The fans boo'd after the game, not during, jesus feck, surely you're allowed to support 90 minutes and then give two fingers at the end should the performance be as bad as it was against Algeria, as for JT, has he have been that honest, he'd still be captain.

Terminal Boardom Does anyone really believe that we will see an improved performance on Wednesday? I don't. I did not think we would be as bad as we were against the USA but look what happened.

We will be eliminated on goals scored.

We will definitely see an improved performance - we will win the game comfortably; I am pretty certain of that.

The sad thing is though, I don't really care. We will still be over-rated shite for most of the rest of my life and give very little cause for excitement of that I am absolutely certain.

Except when we are under-rated shite of course. Like now.

Compo's trying to be as miserable as Floyd, but he's just an optimist at heart.

Don't know of any Englishman who wants us out in the group stages except those who deem it to be cool or controversial...it's not 1998 anymore, no-one finds you amusing so phuck off

ReaLOLism! Floyd thought we could win the thing, i've never thought that. This country is so cringeworthy with the World Cup hype and it gets worse every tournement.

This view is mine and nobody elses and is not a Kes fishing post.

England can win, they are one of the top 10 teams in the world. Once you reach the round of 16 then almost anyone can win. That doesn't mean they will win, or should even be favored, but they are capable of getting hot and going on a run. It's just like American ice hockey a hot goalie can carry you all the way.

Oh.

Carry on then...

Can't help but feel if we took a squad mainly comprised of Premiership "also rans" (e.g. Bobby Zamora) and leading players from the Championship we'd have team worth supporting who would be giving their all. OK they wouldn't win it but you'd all feel supporting them had been worthwhile.

And that's what gets me the most, the eyes of the world are on this tournament and in response England turn in performances from the very heart of Satan's bottom.

Still on the upside at least we're not French....

Agreed. However, have you noticed how many falgs from cars/vans have now been removed? I reckon it was about one in ten. Now its one in about fifty. People are ashamed of this team.

I said that about Zamora and lower league players. Mind you, I'm just arrogant.

England would then get rolled by some of the lesser nations and wouldn't be 'good enough'.

As it is now they probably went into that game half hearted and not fully focused thinking they can just beat these. England will turn Slovenia over and win the group and all will be fine. This post was brought to you in association with readingbedding promotion bus parties.

The last time that we were unfortunate to go out of the WC was in 1998. Perfectly good goal disallowed. 2002 we were scared of Brazil and the Portugal game in 2006 was a total non-event. Prior to that 1990 was the last time we were a shade unlucky after a good performance.
