Wouldn't be surprised if Brendan Rodgers resigned tomorrow.

Liverpool FC is a shambles.

I think it's £100m of wasted money and the promises of FSG that are keeping him awake, tbh.

Would be a miracle if he even got Liverpool into the Europa league now.

I don't think Rodgers will be at Anfield this time next year..think the move is another Hodgson type appointment albeit with a different style of play.

Lol @ SSN on deadline day. They really do believe that they are part of the transfer sometimes, as if standard practise to complete the deal then phone them.

'this has just gone through with minutes to spare' = this deal went through hours ago but we just found out about it.

I genuinely don't understand Liverpool, they pay ridiculous amounts for average players, yet won't pay for a recognised goalscorer like Dempsey.

Well it appears that with quite brilliant timing, FSG have simply said that there is no money left. Full stop. End of discussions. In which case Rodgers had to raise the money he could for Dempsey, including wages - presumably £5m for Adams plus some of Carroll's wages paid only for the bid Liverpool subsequently made.

Bizarre way to do business with a new manager and style though.

Maybe they've already caught on to his lack of managerial skills and habit of spouting rubbish left and right?

Well no, clearly the club has run out of money after Dalglish spent £100m.

Ideal but doesn't king ding-a-ling walk on water?

I think you have a few issues, Ideal.

Drogba would be a coup, easily good enough for 15 goals this season - can't imagine he'll be short of better offers though.

He's gonna freeze his nuts off in Russia, being a Brazilian. Strange one.

Turkish side Fenerbahce say Chelsea's Portugal international midfielder Raul Meireles is having a medical at the club prior to a proposed transfer, reported to be worth £8m. Fenerbahce can buy the 29-year-old after the British transfer deadline because the Turkish window is open until midnight on Wednesday. A Fenerbahce spokesman told BBC Sport: "He is having a medical in Istanbul. We hope a deal can be completed."

How much did Chelsea sign him for? £8m seems a lot, he's always been shit when I've seen him.
