Maguire Anyway, incredible victory from Chelsea against all the odds and anyone who supported the hermans or didn't enjoy seeing them finally crying on the turf after losing a penalty shoot-out needs to have a long look at themselves.

Ryan Bertrand, CL debut in the final, wins a medal. Surely any real Reading fan has got to be made up for the guy.

No fan of Chelsea but this is pretty much what I came on here to say.

yes, another +1 for the sentiments here. I'll always support the English/British team, even Chelsea.

Pleased for Di Matteo in particular

Usually I'd agree. I've always favoured the British team in the final, but I couldn't muster that "us" feeling towards Chelsea. The "global brand" clubs epitomise so much of what is bad about the game today that I can find no joy in them winning. Saying that, I wasn't cheering for Bayern either. I just didn't care who won.

SLAMMED Did anyone else see Drogba literally fighting to get to the front when the whole team lifted the trophy

Wasn't he just trying to clear the way for Lampard and Terry (spits) to lift the trophy in full view?

I've not been Drogba's biggest fan (purely because of his theatrics) but not only did he yet again show why he's been probably the most complete centre forward of his generation, but I thought he showed some real class on Saturday night during the celebrations.

I didn't see all the game, but yet again Chelsea managed to hold out against all the odds, and that's not easy to do, even if you are having to rely on your opposition not taking chances etc. Great to see the likes of Cole and Cahill playing out of their skins and Lampard again having a good game in a deeper position (where I think he may line up for England against France in a few weeks time).

I'm no Chelsea fan, and I don't always support the English teams in Europe because of my club allegiances, but it was good to see them win and to win with big performances from players that many anti-England fans slag off as not good enough. Shows just what is possible with a bit of luck and proper hard graft.

One way to ensure your return to Everton

Tottenham fans have labelled Louis Saha and Steven Pienaar 'a disgrace' after the pair congratulated Chelsea on their dramatic Champions League penalty shoot-out victory over Bayern Munich.

‘Well done Chelsea,’ wrote Pienaar, who spent the last half of the season on loan at Everton.

While Saha said: ‘Bravo Drogba. Bravo Chelsea. Bravo Champion League. Bravo Football. Just magic stuff. ‘No CL for Tottenham but FairPlay to Chelsea. Great victory great final for them.

Oh and LOL at this Spurs fans reaction
‘We pay your wages and you say well done Chelski!?!’ raged another.

Has he been found guilty now then?

I don't need the CPS to tell me when a guy is racist thanks

...good job too as they only lay the charges, they don't make the judgement.

How many Reading players are English? Are we bad for the game too?

Most games on tv I don't particularly care who wins. I just want to see a decent game.

I've don't understand the 'always cheer on the English side in Europe' thing. I can't stand Man U or Chelsea (or Millwall the season they made Europe) so the idea of supporting them over over a foreign club that I have nothing against seems a bit xenophobic.

Why can't you stand United or Chelsea?

Utd because I don't like Ferguson or the fact that their fans think they are the biggest club in the world (presumably on the basis of the number of replica shirts they sell in the far east).

Chelsea because even by professional football standards they have an awful lot of tossers in their squad - Terry and Cole (in particular), Lampard, Drogba and Torres to name a few. Also hate them due to the clubs over the top reaction to the Hunt incident. That challenge was nothing compared to some of Essien's tackles that season!

I guess the reason you ask is that you suspect I hate Utd and Chelsea because they're successful. That maybe true to an extent. There is something very irritating about smug fans of successful big clubs, mainly because such a large proportion of them have no link to the club and choose to support them because they win things (much the same way a 5 year old chooses who to support). Give it a year or 2 and they'll all support Man City!

Good answer futcher hater.

Even in victory the immediate post match interviews were pretty graceless - Ashley Cole's in particular. Bit like Nasri's on winning the title. Cech's bigging himself up was good for the lolz though.

I genuinely belive Terry has forgotten what he did in the semi-final. He should not have been allowed in the stadium, let alone go up to get the trophy. A true ROFLole model.

But, despite all that, they've showed a Reading like resillience and turning the germans over in their backyard and on penalties is about as good as it gets on the european stage for an English team.

what's players being English got to do with what I said?

I apologise for not sharing your lung-busting patriotism towards everything from dear old blighty, but watching financial juggernauts squish everything beneath their wheels in their tv sponsored quest for fame, wealth and world domination leaves me somewhat cold.

Gerrard lifting the European Cup in a sea of red, Barca’s joyous on-field celebrations last year, the iconic image of Bobby Moore holding the World Cup aloft, and then this.

LOL

Classy.
