Yep - at first the people closest to the fire are standing around laughing and pointing at it. Then, once it takes properly hold, it's suddenly moving along the stand faster than anyone can run.

Scary, scary stuff.

soggy biscuit For some reason I just watched a youtube clip of the Bradford fire. A man staggered out fully on fire at one point. Made me want to cry.

They censor that out usually. He died on the pitch.

Rumpole The reporter has shot himself in the foot there. Comes across a right twat.

Pretty much what I thought while watching it.

Shout the same question 20 times over the top of the bloke you want to answer it. Great interviewing technique.

In the latest twist to the bizarre Kelvin McKenzie sub-plot, KM has just issued proceedings against South Yorkshire Police for the mess he's in as a result of reporting what SYP officers told him.

The Spectator Lawyers acting for Kelvin MacKenzie have written to South Yorkshire Police seeking an apology for the circumstances that have led to his ‘personal vilification for decades’. Writing in tomorrow’s Spectator, the former Sun editor speaks out for the first time in detail about his fateful decision to print the now infamous ‘THE TRUTH’ headline in the red-top the day after the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.

The terms of the apology and any compensation are to be debated, but MacKenzie tells of police patrols being increased around his house and the physical danger he faces in the city of Liverpool. Kelvin admits that he was wrong, ‘but the people who have got away scot-free are South Yorkshire Police.’ He is seeking recompense for ‘the lies their officers told’.

‘Now I know — you know, we all know — that the fans were right. But it took 23 years, two inquiries, one inquest and research into 400,000 documents, many of which were kept secret under the 30-year no-publication rule, to discover there was a vast cover-up by South Yorkshire Police about the disaster. Where does that leave me?’

Do Liverpool fans fail to accept even 1% responsibility for Hillsborough?

What a pcunt. I'd be embarrassed if I were him - "where does that leave me?"

Er, check your sources thoroughly and closely before ramming them under "THE TRUTH" on your front page? Have a prick of conscience before trying to keep your rag at the top of the circulation pile? No, though not...

In this case that would have been pretty difficult since the source was the (now knighted) MP and he could of cited the (now knighted) Police commisioner and the council leader.

Just reading a tweet by J Barton about Shankley.

Seems a bit ironic he said "Football isn't a matter of life and death, it's more important that than". I'm sure the Hillsborough families wouldn't agree with that statement.

Tokyo Sex Whale I might get a 20 pager out of this yet...

I came onto your forum for a bit of friendly pre match banter. When i logged in i was given the option of looking back at my previous posts and that is what brought me to this thread. Sorry if the above seems like a bit of a rant but when youve spent 23 years (i was 19 back then and was in amongst the carnage) trying to tell people we did nothing wrong it does piss you off when an independent panel has spent 2 years combing over 450,000 documents and concludes what you knew all along (Police cover up, scousers innocent) and you come on another clubs forum and some knobhead asks if we wont even take 1% of the blame.

There are some who doubt Jimmy Savile claims, some who think 9/11 was a set up with bombs in the towers and fake planes and there are some who think Liverpool fans are to blame. File under loonies or deluded. It's not their fault they'd been fed lies for so long.

Fair enough, i didnt think he was a Reading fan. Chelsea fans dont like us much but something like Hillsborough should go beyond petty club squabbles. People died going to watch their team play. Football fans the world over have lots of things in common even the ones who support your bitterest rivals. Take me, i live for my family first and then LFC second. I bet there are loads of Chelsea fans who are just like that. Anyway, i popped into your pre match prediction thread earlier which was what i came to do today anyway. Hope its a good game and we all enjoy it (and Liverpool win of course  ). Good luck for the rest of the season lads.

A Manc fan having a pop about Hilsborough eh? Who'd have thought it ? Anyway my previous post about having things in common with your rivals fans still stands. You wouldnt catch me singing about Munich because that behaviour is disgusting and most LFC fans agree with that attitude. On the rare occasion ive heard a Liverpool 'fan' singing such a song ive told him to shut the fu*k up.
