At that rate they'll in a position to buy Pompey in 2016!

Pretty poor going for such a "massive" club with the "best supporters in the land". Only 1000 people have offered to save the club they love... what's that - less than 10% of season ticket holders?

There's probably more to it than stinginess. People would worry their money'd only go down the drain.

It's OK, the Baron Knights have now put in a bid.

I saw what was billed as Fulhams last ever game in 1987 against Doncaster.

Message to TBM: that was the worst game I've ever seen.

I'd love it for Pompey supporters to buy the club and then the courts wind the club up.

See how they like being fleeced!

There's quite a good thread about Rangers' administration on KUMB. One of the posters (Wembley 1966) is either ITK or a massive conspiracy theorist. Can't quite work out which. Example:
Wembley1966 They'll use their own money - new owners of a new company will not have any obligation on the old liquidated company - the old company's debts will die with them - gone forever. That's been the end game plan all along and what Whyte was brought in to front - to liquidate the existing Rangers Company and start a new one that has no debts.

When liquidated, all their assets are broken up, distibuted & sold to pay the creditors, this will include Ibrox & all infrastucture, copyrights, image rights etc. so Newco will have to try & buy from creditors to recover these. In essence, they will have to pay the debts, depending what value is put on the stadium etc. Will cost them a fair bit before they are able to think about playing again. Possibly a long drawn out process, will there be enough income time being to play next season?

If liquidated I assume they lose all history? No trophies etc.

It seems that the last bidder standing expects to "incubate" the positives about the club (its history etc), then shut down the bad bits "debts to be repaid? The company has gone out of business mate!!!", then re-start the club with the old positive bits, at Ibrox, still in the SPL, and with no debts.

That can't be right can it???

It's the SPL, they can't/won't have it any other way as otherwise it'll be a one horse race - they may as well just award the trophy to Celtic at the start of the season.

Rangers latest:

Craig Whyte has been given a life time ban in the SPL.

Rangers given a 12 month transfer embargo and something like £160,000 fine.

It isn't :|

There were tonnes of Rangers fans who didn't want him coming in at all because of his past record. Even the Celtic fans were saying " this guys a clear criminal he's going to take them down haha",etc, etc It was blindingly obvious to most people he shouldn't be in there, what could the innocent rangers fans do to avoid that?

Its not like the Pompey case where fans weren't in the know about who was coming in and it was a lottery, this guy had CLEAR prior and everyone knew it. Whyte is an idiot, even the most sceptical of people thought " hes not going to come in and conduct shady activities when half of scotland is watching and knows he has prior"....then what does he do? the absolute audacity is astounding...the sheer arrogance.
The SPL are cretins for letting him take over, they are fining him over not declaring he was disqualified as a Director, yet how hard would it have been for them to find out and block the takeover, they've failed the club.

In terms of going forward, the club should start at the bottom division...possibly in England, cardiff/swansea are allowed, time for Rangers to do it from the bottom there and work their way up.

It wont be allowed now. They were all allowed in before the war. I can't be bothered to dig up why there were allowed in. It's different now. They're Scottish and they can bloody well stay there!
