It's worse than that............................

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33284185

Sepp Blatter says he has not resigned as Fifa president.

The 79-year-old Swiss was thought to have ended his 17-year reign on 2 June amid claims of corruption in world football's governing body.

But, according to Swiss newspaper Blick, Blatter told a party at a Fifa museum: "I did not resign. I put myself and my office in the hands of the Fifa congress."

Un - oxf*rd - believable.

He continues to make FIFA not only the most corrupt organisation in the World, but also the most risible.

It's hard not to admire his ability at weasel politics. What's that? Pressure mounting to the point your position is untenable. Claim (slightly obscurely) you'll step down in six months to satisfy demands. Then slowly erode the position as the pressure subsides from the big breaking news story to just yet more background corruption claims that are superseded by other news. End up standing for re-election having been 'persuaded' the majority still want you and laughing in everyone's faces.

Hopefully the FBI can take him down in the meantime.

Well I for one would be terribly interested to know what is in his schedule that takes priority over an appearance by the president of FIFA at the FIFA Womens World Cup Final...

Cementing alliances, shredding incriminating documents and bribing officials?

If the President of FIFA isn't prepared to attend the Final of a FIFA World Cup, question's have to be asked as to whether he is up to the job.

But there won't be any questions, as long as the African, South American, Caribbean, Asian and certain European Countries still "benefit" from his Presidency...

Another golden quote from Sepp:

""I have a clean conscience," the Swiss told German magazine Bunte in an interview published on Wednesday.

"Whoever calls me corrupt will have to prove it, but nobody can prove that because I am not corrupt."

Blatter said he was open to criticism. "But if anybody calls me corrupt because FIFA is corrupt, I can only shake my head. Everybody who says something like that should go to jail."

He said he was a religious person and that his faith had given him strength during the last weeks.

"I own a golden cross that has been blessed by Pope Francis. I believe I will go to heaven one day," Blatter said.

I see FIFA have now moved fast and today banned Chuck Blazer from all football activities for life. This was after abandoning a previous enquiry into him a while back due to his ill health.

This one just keeps on giving....

Isn't he terminally ill. Not like he'll give a toss in the circumstances. Cantona got a longer ban for kicking a racist.

But then this is the organisation that will give FAs and teams "slap on the wrist" fines for racism and then fine a club or player ten times as much for wearing something with a different manufacturers name showing.
