A raid for Baines (Everton) or Shaw (Southampton) at left back is also possible. Tough call that one, Baines was excellent last season but Shaw has shown some real potential with solid displays that belie his age. There are also rumours of an interest in Robert Lewandowski, can't see him and van Persie in the same side though.

QPR have apparently bid for Cenk Tosun from Gaziantepspor. 22 year old German born Turkish striker. One year left on his contract.

Their Director of Football was quoted as saying "We are working in the best interests of the club and player. Cenk is a great player, QPR have made an offer however, he is unsure about making the move following their relegation and Beşiktaş are also interested.

"Cenk is going to be an important member of the Turkish national side in the future.

"His statistics speak for themselves, he has scored 40 goals in under three seasons."
